Eiraheeari Catroshife is a quarter of unknown heritage. Because his name is long and cumbersome, he usually goes by the nickname Ari. (His name sometimes causes confusion with Airi for the readers). He works at Lorraine's store in Atera.

Appearance[]

Ari appears as a young boy with light skin tone. He has thick medium length messy pink hair, that he ties in two ponytails on his back, thin pink eyebrows and brown eyes. He is wearing pink shoes with dark brown soles, dark brown trousers and a pink pullover that has a hood, and a lighter-pink ribbon around the neck-area.

Personality[]

He seems to follow etiquette, and stays in the background when important people are talking. He appears to not like people fighting, and can lash out to stop the fight. He seems somewhat emotional, and is prone to cry in situations of distress.

Synopsis[]

Ari first appears in chapter 27 where he is talking with Airi about Lorraine's delayed package. Unable to calm Airi, he is left alone to guard the package just in front of Lorraine's shop. Once the package gets stolen, he quickly gets a person with a loudspeaker to announce the theft, and starts to loudly cry when no-one steps forward to catch the thieves. This softens Leez's heart, who decides to give chase.

Eiraheeari later visits Brilith with Lorraine, he bows before the Oracle, and appears amazed, after hearing her story about the Staff of Agni. They return to Lorraine's shop with the weapon, and he appears quite shocked about finding the supposed to be guarding Airi sleeping instead. He quickly grows wary of the battle of wits that ensues between Lorraine and Airi, and lashes out by shouting for them to stop. He continues talking in a peaceful manner, and is surprised along with Lorraine and Airi by the red glowing sky.

He is allowed to come along, as Lorraine and Airi prepare to leave for the palace with a flying device. He is fastened to the machine by a chain, but he is completely unprepared for the acceleration as they take off, causing him to fall off and hang by his left ankle as they fly. He is about to be saved by Sagara who notices them, grabs him and is about to bring him safely onto the machine, but drops him. As Lorraine and Airi leave him with Sagara as they flee , he is left hanging from the floating machine. Once the attack on Atera is over, he finally manages to draw Lorraine's attention and is saved from his predicament.

Ari is from Isholy, his parents came to Willarv briefly on business before the Cataclysm and brought him along, but they died during the N0 Cataclysm, so Ari is all alone now because all his relatives are from Isholy. Briefly he was taken under the care of Saha On, the President of the Eloth Magic Guild, but Lorraine took him as disciple because of his triple Brahma attributes. Unlike Ran who had a Half parent and a pureblood parent, the previous five generations of Ari's ancestry were all quarters, so he's too far removed from the original sura blood. As a result, his physical abilities are almost the same as a pureblood's, the only thing distinguishing him as a quarter is his slower aging.

Season 1[]

Chapter 5: The Golden Knight[]

(1) After escaping the temple, Leez spots Ari informing Airi that Lorraine is disgruntled over the late delivery of Asha's birthday present and has asked it be sent back. Ari tries to calm an extremely stressed Airi that Lorraine is probably kidding because the delivery contains a god-level item, and will fetch for her if she waits. Airi, stressed and now irritated, shows Ari her wounds from fighting suras as she travelled from Eloth to Atera. She hastily leaves to look for a healing magician, leaving Ari to deal and move the large container of gift himself.

(3) After a pair of thieves stole the box, Ari requests someone in the crows to announce an appeal for any willing magician or half to chase after the thieves. When no one steps up, he wails loudly, catching Leez's attention. He agonizes being thrown out, without shelter or family to turn to, as punishment. Leez, hearing his situation, volunteers and gives chase to the thieves. After she leaves, someone in the crowd asks what the reward is, surprising Ari. He is shocked to learn that catching a half would cost a minimum of 20 gold coins; he pretends he never hears that.

Chapter 6: The Past I Yearn For/Longing for Yesterday[]

(2) Lorraine blames Airi for leaving Ari with the box by himself that led to it being stolen but returned with the exception of the Golden Knight bracelet.

Chapter 10: The Night it Rained Fire[]

(1) Tagging along with Lorraine to visit Brilith at the Temple of Fire, Ari confesses how nervous he, an ordinary student magician, is to meet the Priestess in person. He regrets not persuading Airi to go with Lorraine instead of him. Airi is seen volunteering to stay behind and watch over Lorraine's shop because the store might get robbed again if it was Ari doing the guarding. When Brilith meets Ari, she apologizes for assuming Ari is a girl.

After visiting Brilith, Ari is concerned that the Priestess isn't the happy person she portrays herself to be. He asks Lorraine who her friend could be. Lorraine replies she is just as surprised to find out that Brilith has a close friend other than Asha.

Ari can only look on helplessly as an infuriated Lorraine battles with Airi for sleeping on the job, and as a result, missing out on customers and their revenue.

(2) Ari looks at Lorraine uneasily when they discuss Brilith's now beast-like Staff of Agni. He is put in between Lorraine and Airi who are increasing growing hostile to one another again. He forces them to stop by yelling at them and refocusing their attention back on the Staff. Ari starts outlining that a month from now, Lorraine will modify the Staff appropriately, but he before he could continue on, is stopped when the sky turns red.

(3) Lorraine, Airi, and Ari gather some of Lorraine's stuff into her flying car before they travel to the Temple so that Lorraine can relieve Brilith if she can no longer maintain the barrier. Ari asks why he's coming when they know that he'll be useless. Lorraine jokingly replies due to his attributes, he'll serve as her backup if she ends up collapsing, scaring Ari for a moment. She and Airi sit in the front while Ari is seated in the open back of the vehicle where he is instructed by Lorraine to put on an ankle cuff as a "seatbelt." When Lorraine starts the car, the "seatbelt" is no good, and Ari ends up falling off and dangling behind the car.

(4) Ari is seen hanging upside down at the ankle, dizzy, and frothing at the mouth as he's dragged by Lorraine's car.

(6) Sagara takes Ari with her when she jumps on Lorraine's car. The Ananta king announces that everyone onboard the car will be die at her hands. Ari is pushed back out of the car and left hanging there when Sagara gives chase to Lorraine and Airi.

(20) Once Sagara's attack on Atera is thwarted, Lorraine forgets about leaving Ari hanging from her car until she notices him barfing and yelling "Have you forgotten about me?"

Chapter 11: The Power of the Name[]

(1) Ari is with Airi and Lorraine as they all help Brilith pick a new dress. When the Priestess settles on a blue dress, Ari exclaims that it really suits her. As Airi and Lorraine have another one of their trivial spats, Ari looks at them begging them not to fight.

Season 3[]

48: Separation[]

As Atera is getting heavily attacked, the citizens notice that the barrier is back up. Ari tries to get them to evacuate but they ignore him. Then someone asks him for directions to the Temple, he answers that it would be better to go to the guild. The person tries to go to the Temple anyway, but Ari grabs them by the clothes and drags them towards the guild.[1]

Upon arriving at the guild, Ari and his new companion learn that it is already full and everyone should evacuate to the Brimo Department Store instead. Ari offers to take his companion there. As they chat, the companion admits that he would have liked to have gone to the place where Agni is staying since the end is coming and he wants to see his wish come true. Ari asks him what he means, and goes on to praise the gods for their concern for the humans.[2]

Inside the Brimo Department Store, Ari chats with Riche Seiran. He praises the strength of the building and the fact that the Brimo brand has grown so much. Riche Seiran thanks him for his kind words, since Airi is always so critical. There is a sudden crackle and bright flash, and everyone in the room except Ari and his former companion get fried to a crisp. This person changes form, now taller and more muscular, and tells Ari that a strong building is nothing when a sura is inside, and that he let him live because he entertained him for a bit. Ari watches the nastika disappear out a window, and then hears a mechanical voice coming from Riche's remains asking people to make their way to the basement.[3]

In the basement of the Brimo Department Store, Ari watches Riche fire at the sura that has been destroying the city outside. Riche prompts Ari to help. Ari voices surprise that Riche is alive and, realizing that the Riche that died must have been a robot, he points out that making machines that look like humans is illegal. Riche does not seem to care, saying that it is unwise to rely on the protection of the gods. Ari then apologizes for having brought the sura into the building.[4]

When the shooting forces the sura out of the barrier, Chandra arrives to help. Riche questions the purity of Chandra's motivations and directs Ari to focus on the Taraka suras that are flying out of the Taraka portal above the city. Ari expresses guilt over leading the sura to the Department Store and then asks why Agni is not there yet. Riche voices doubt that Agni would come and says that Ari is an idiot for having faith in the gods. [5] Later, Ari notices that some of the Taraka clan suras have flown straight through the barrier.[6] Finally, Chandra Tarakafies and destroys most of the city. Ari, however, stays safe in Riche's bunker.[7]
