He aspires to cold rationality, but he has not lost his habit of falling headlong into anything which interests him.

Brahma about Chandra[1]

Chandra is the god of Darkness, and a Fifth Zen-level god. He is also the patron of the 2nd month.

Appearance[]

Chandra appears as a pale, slender young man. He has long, wild black hair and heavily shadowed pink eyes. He wears a long sleeved white button down shirt and black pants, but leaves most of the buttons on the shirt undone. He does not wear shoes. He prefers to appear as a 14-year old boy most of the time. (14 Western/15 Korean age)

Personality[]

He has a callous and slightly unhinged personality. He is also arrogant and looks down on humans, referring to them as "lower life forms"[2][3] and telling his priest Laila Hemawati that she should just "get over" the fact that he killed her mentor during the Cataclysm.[4] He is capable and level-headed in combat situations, keeping focus on the task at hand.[5][6]

Skills and Abilities[]

His powers are available to humans via the spells hoti chandra, which provides them with the ability to conceal themselves in a designated area, and bhavati chandra, which gives a 1.5x amplifying effect on various spells. While bhavati chandra only works on magic, he can use an amplifying transcendental which also works on transcendental skills.[7]

Personally, he has shown the ability to summon spiked tentacles which he uses to restrain targets. He can also turn himself into a dark mist that helps him travel quickly and unimpeded.[4]

He is capable of creating a separate dreamscape, a space pocket within which he has been said to be able to confine even Ananta. He can have the space resemble any place he has seen.[8]

Notes[]

  • In Hindu mythology, Chandra is the god of the Moon.
  • Chandra was the first astika to reach enlightenment.[9]

History[]

2-142 Chandra and Laila

Sometime before the Cataclysm, Chandra visited Laila Hemawati when she was a child. He gave her an oracle in which he told her to hide her face and forget her true name. If her fate was unchanged despite this, he told her, then call for him.[10]

Chandra was summoned to the human realm by the Priest of Darkness—Laila Hemawati's predecessor and mentor—in Rindhallow during the Cataclysm. However, since he was not aware that Visnu changed the rules for summoning, he used up his summoner's lifespan by unleashing his full powers,[11] killing many suras in the process.[12]

Season 1[]

Chapter 6: The Past I Yearn For/Longing for Yesterday[]

(2) While Maruna gathers mara and upani-ranking suras to attack Rindhallow in case Gandharva's plan fails, he and a subordinate discuss the city's previous Priestess of Darkness who summoned Chandra to save the city during the Catacylsm. Unaware of the new rules set in place, Chandra used his powers freely, draining his summoners lifespan, to eradicate the suras attacking, and inevitably killing her. Maruna speculates that there's no one in the city capable of summoning Chandra for protection. Even if the current Priestess, Laila, was successful, the god won't be as powerful as before.

Season 2[]

Chapter 31: Your Justice and Mine[]

(22) Claude bursts into Laila's room to stop her from using summoning magic, only to find that Chandra has already been summoned. Chandra demands that he explain himself on the threat of death.

2-157 get over it

(23) Chandra interrogates Claude about his intentions. Claude invites him to use Insight, but he cannot see anything. When Claude refuses to say which god gave him an oracle, Chandra becomes angry and materializes spiked vines to bind him with, saying that the best way to deal with offenses against the gods is with pain. Laila asks him to stop, and to carry out the mission that she told him about earlier. When she mentions that she will die soon like her mentor, he asks if she's still mad about it. It was a long time ago and was an accident, he says, so she should just get over it. He mentions the promise that he made her, and she agrees that he has fulfilled it. After a pause, he bursts into laughter and leaves, telling Claude to be grateful to Laila on the way out.

(24) Kasak is thinking about the reason the sura stopped their attack and retreated when Chandra appears behind, saying that he's surprised that the dragon half didn't rush ahead and sat to think, and referencing Kasak's madness during the Cataclysm. He simply sits and smiles when Kasak calls out his name.

(25) Chandra appears to save Agni from his predicament, calling him an idiot for getting caught by some transcendentals so easily, and destroying the version of Urvasi in the process. Yuta enters the field, nullifying Chandra's transcendentals and leaving him helpless, and Kasak blocks the hit Yuta aimed on Chandra. Yuta pushes Kasak over before Sagara orders him to leave, but before Kasak could follow them, Chandra stops him. Chandra tells him that he won't be able to use transcendentals then, and if other superior sura joined Yuta, Kasak will die. Chandra says that they have to take Agni and return to the cities first, and then they'll need to take care of the fifth stage Rakshasa before the suras take wind of what happened to the Rakshasa.

Season 3[]

Chapter 35: Return[]

(4) Chandra is bathing while Laila reads a letter from Ran informing Chandra that he has accepted the position of the Priest of Water and thus would no longer be able to carry out Chandra’s errands.

(5) Ran Sairofe reveals that Chandra speaks openly of the Taraka suras and in fact has ordered him to hunt for those suras.

In Rindhallow, Agni teases Chandra for saying that Ran has refused the latter's orders and points out that humans are not obligated to obey them. He asks why Chandra is not hunting for the Taraka suras himself, since many people have been complaining about Chandra's lack of concern for their safety. Chandra replies that he already has a bad reputation anyways and warns Agni of the danger of getting consumed by the Tarakas, which would cause the Gods themselves to go out of control and wreak havoc in the human realm.

Then Chandra recalls that Gandharva surafied in Kalibloom seven years ago and points out that since Gandharva is not bound by a summoner, unlike himself and Agni, it would be even more catastrophic if Gandharva were to get consumed by the Tarakas and go out of control. Chandra suggests that he and Agni should track down Gandharva and dispose of him to eliminate this risk.

Chapter 36: Another Beginning/Start, Again[]

(1) In Rindhallow's temple, Chandra taunts Agni, who appears to be passing time by sitting on the windowsill and sulking, by reminding the latter that a god should not neglect his summoner. Laila interjects that not all summoners desire the company of their gods and that neglecting would be more preferable to what Chandra does to her. Offended by her remark, Chandra jumps onto Laila's desk while she is working and scolds Laila for her disrespect towards him, remarking that he must have been too lenient on her for the past few years and that she should beware of going to hell for blasphemy. Laila rebukes that since Chandra has the power of insight, it would be useless to attempt to hide her thoughts from him and mince her words. She proceeds to demonstrate her point by stating aloud that Chandra is the hottest man in the universe while thinking that he is a brat for putting his feet on her desk while she is working. Agni laughs at Chandra for having insight used against himself like that and says that he is jealous since it is rare for a human to respond positively to knowledge of insight. He then asks to stay in Rindhallow longer to give Brilith more space away from him.

(2) Chandra complains about Laila having spent half of the night on paperwork and is visibly agitated and vexed when Agni teleports away with Laila to Atera to dream-track Brilith, who is being haunted by Asha in her nightmare.

Chapter 37: Threat[]

(1) Laila receives news on Taraka suras near Kalibloom. She worriedly observes that attacks from the Tarakas are becoming more common. From this, Chandra deduces that the sura realm must be no longer capable of holding up against the Tarakas and remarks that if the nastikas are unable to fend off the Tarakas, then the situation must be serious. Then he orders Laila to disclose the existence of the Taraka clan to all cities and ask all to begin preparations for defense.

(2) In front of a pond glistening with Taraka’s fragments, Chandra speaks to Agni about the increase in the number of the Taraka clan suras that travel through the passages from the sura realm to the human realm and how this increase means that food, i.e. the weaker suras, must be scarce now in the sura realm. Having anticipated this outcome, Chandra was opposed to moving the Taraka clan to the sura realm at first but had to agree in the end.

Agni laments that there was not much choice for Chandra to disagree then and that even though the method used to move the Taraka clan to the sura realm was dishonorable, the gods had made this decision in the best interest of preventing the destruction of the universe and only knew of one future back then. Unfortunately, it has become clear now that the Tarakas are overrunning the sura realm and threatening the very existence of the universe yet again.

Chandra mentions to Agni that he has been collecting the Taraka fragments because he is planning on using the fragments if the Taraka situation becomes dire enough and points out that the fragments technically belong to Kali, since Kali was the original owner of the Taraka clan. Agni is alarmed by Chandra's idea and urges Chandra to reconsider, reminding him of the danger of getting consumed by the Tarakas should the latter fail in using the fragments. Agni further adds that the fragments' user need not be a god and insinuates that a human should be used instead.

Although humans have less willpower and do not revive once killed, they can be easily subdued if the go berserk. The two gods agree on this method, however, Agni insists that this must be used only as a last resort. He then realizes that Chandra has been planning on doing so all along and sternly demands Chandra not to start experimenting without him. Chandra mentions that Laila has talked with Brilith on dealing with insight and shoos Agni away to Atera.

After Agni leaves, Chandra sends a letter to all humans who have run his errands (Ran, Mirha, Ruche, Siera, Clari, Lutz, and Tilda) and asks them to gather at Kalibloom on the next day of Chaos, declaring that one of them will soon have the honor to save the world.

(3) Chandra asks for Laila's opinion on his letter to his candidates, and Laila replies that he knows best. Chandra tells Laila that had she not been his summoner, she would have been a candidate for the fragment experiment as well. Without hesitating, Laila affirms that she would have been willing and voices her belief that Chandra's insight would be able to identify those willing to sacrifice and predict their actions with certainty.

Suddenly, Chandra assumes his adult form and leans closer to Laila. He points out that because some humans are uncertain of their own feelings, even the gods have to take a guess. Chandra gives Laila's uncertainty over her hatred for him as an example but is met with Laila calling him shameless. Chandra continues to ramble on how Laila's insolence will land her in hell, where she will have to deal with his company forever, which prompts Laila to ask why she would only be able to see him in hell and if there are no gods in heaven. Chandra becomes solemn and remains silent, leading Laila to conclude that he cannot tell her but that this discussion is moot anyways since she has resigned herself to be barred from heaven.

(4) Teo Rakan sponsors Maruna and Gandharva, who have been disguising themselves as halfs in a half village, into the city of Kalibloom. Since she recognizes Maruna from reports of events of seven years ago, she immediately sends out letters to inform both gods of Maruna's presence.

In Rindhallow, Chandra reads the letter. He realizes that Agni would have also received it and since this is an issue he and Agni could never agree on, he makes haste to get to Kalibloom first.

(5) Maruna and Gandharva are arguing in Kalibloom when suddenly all lights around them go dark. Chandra appears before the pair and gleefully mentions that extinguishing all fires in the vicinity took some time.

(6) Gandharva immediately throws Maruna outside of Chandra's reach, revealing himself to the god. Chandra mocks Gandharva's apparent decline in power and berates Gandharva for breaking the rules to take sura form in Kalibloom seven years ago. Furthermore, he conjures a pocket space to recreate the scenery of the fallen planet Gresvan and lists off Gandharva's past crimes, such as destroying the planet Gresvan to vent his anger over the humans' decision to renounce fiendish magic and shattering the souls of the dead so that the gods could not reap them, which deprived the dead of their afterlife. He laments that Agni claimed that Gandharva had changed after Menaka's teachings but he himself doubts the change since Gandharva continues to kill, having drowned Carte in N5 and surafying on Willarv in N16.

Chapter 38: Devastation[]

(1) Since Kalibloom's chaos barrier prevents Chandra from using transcendentals, he attempts to kill Gandharva using his hand-to-hand combat skills. Chandra notes that although Gandharva is much weaker now, so much so that his transcendental value is close to that of a 4th stage Rakshasa, his defensive ability should not be underestimated and admits that he is having trouble executing Gandharva in a timely manner. He ruminates over whether he should have combined attacks with Agni but decides that Agni would be unreliable on this matter, judging from the latter's previous reaction in regards to Gandharva. He is about to violate the rules of the chaos barrier to use his offensive transcendentals when Agni breaks into his pocket space and interrupts his efforts.

(2) Agni chides Chandra for being smart and usually correct in his judgment but never considering when he could be wrong. He remarks that had Gandharva been at his strength of seven years ago, Chandra would have been dead and waiting in the underworld by now. Chandra retorts that it is pointless to mention Gandharva's past strength since Gandharva is considerably weaker now and can be handled by Chandra alone. He is exasperated that Agni has come to spare Gandharva again. Agni denies his intention to spare Gandharva and claims that he is there to save Chandra instead, having inferred that Chandra was about to break the chaos barrier rules to use his offensive transcendentals because his hand-to-hand combat was inefficient.

Agni explains that Gandharva's transgression at Kalibloom was not for his own pleasure, claiming that Menaka's teachings have been effective. To divert from the argument with Chandra on how to deal with Gandharva, Agni asks for the whereabouts of Maruna and points out that the letter was specifically about Maruna and not Gandharva. Chandra huffs and grumbles that Agni should not spare Gandharva again, then he leaves to track down Maruna.

(3) In Eloth, Tilda and Lutz mention to Ruche that they have declined Chandra's order to gather at Kalibloom and sent a letter to him, citing concerns over having many individuals with high transcendental gather and potentially attracting the Taraka suras.

(4) In Kalibloom, a portal to the sura realm has opened in the sky, releasing a swarm of Taraka suras whose eyes are closed. The city turrets do not react to those suras at all, causing worry over whether the barrier is functioning. Chandra suddenly appears to take over the barrier from the priest, Siera Sies. He remarks to himself that it is strange that the turrets are not working even after he, a god, has taken over the barrier and that normal Tarakas usually do not have the power to disable the turrets.

(6) Chandra appears to check on Agni after the latter suddenly became drained of power and unable to fight the Tarakas. Agni asks Chandra to transport both himself and Gandharva to the Earth temple so that Agni could maintain the Earth barrier and protect more humans. He also asks Chandra to take Laila to Atera to wake up Brilith, who has collapsed. Chandra initially protests against the plan, since it would harm Agni in his current state to maintain a barrier whose attribute differs from his own when he has yet to recover from the penalty for firing the Neutral Bow seven years ago. In the end, Chandra agrees to Agni's plan as that is the best course of action the gods could take, but he expresses doubt over whether Laila could safely travel with him using his transport transcendental, since he believes that Laila does not trust him enough. However, Agni reassures him that Laila would be able to deceive her own mind. Chandra reluctantly follows Agni's plan and leaves for Rindhallow.

Chapter 39: The Value of a Life[]

(1) In Rindhallow, Chandra tries to explain to Laila that they need to immediately leave for Atera together to wake up Brilith, but Laila interrupts him before he could finish and readily agrees to the travel. Surprised by Laila's readiness, Chandra asks for her confirmation, since she could die under his transport transcendental if she distrusts him. Laila reassures him that she trusts him enough to survive his transcendental and urges him to make haste. Chandra hesitates and tells her if she dies in the process, he will not look in on her in hell. Laila retaliates that if he feels any remorse, then he should stop his childish lies about blasphemy. Chandra, taken aback by Laila's remark, appears to have gleaned some knowledge from his insight on Laila. As he engulfs both of them in his transport transcendental, he tells her that her insolence has gone too far and that when she dies, she is definitely going to hell and that he will be there to give her what she deserves.

Soon the pair arrive in Atera, and Chandra is pleasantly surprised by Laila having survived the transport transcendental without any harm except for her ripped clothes. Later, Laila begins to dream track Brilith while Chandra guards the door.

(6) Chandra rushes into Brilith's room to rouse Laila, who is unconscious, and he mutters to himself that Claude should have brought Laila back properly after using bhavati yama on her. Having regained her consciousness, Laila overhears Chandra's mutter and questions Chandra on whom he was speaking of. Chandra lies to Laila by saying how Laila should have brought Brilith back after finishing her dream-tracking. Laila, realizing that Claude had used bhavati yama on her, expresses doubt over Chandra's feigned ignorance to Claude's magic since the god has insight. To persuade the incredulous Laila, Chandra tells her that he avoids using insight on her as she often insults him in her thoughts.

Chandra realizes that Brilith has left and asks Natasha and Tara where the Staff of Agni is. He also mentions that Agni has been unable to touch the staff since seven years ago, after having used the Neutral Bow. Then Chandra decides to return to Kalibloom with Laila. When Laila shows concern over traveling with him using his transcendental, he reassures her that she would be fine since she had already done so earlier from Rindhallow to Atera.

Upon arriving at Kalibloom and seeing Brilith, Chandra remarks that Brilith's current state probably means that Claude is in danger.

Chapter 40: Twisted Bird[]

(9) In a flashback from a long time ago, after the annihilation of the Ancient human race, many Gods gather in Hell to ask Agni to give up on his betrothed. The Gods want to annihilate her soul to prevent future problems she may cause. Chandra tells Agni that his betrothed will never forgive him and it would be better to let her go now. The Gods first tried to make Yama cancel the betrothal but Yama refused to do it without Agni's consent. Agni keeps refusing to cancel the betrothal, Chandra acknowledges it to be his decision but continues to insist along with the other gods. One of the Gods suggests Agni should get betrothed to a better human, which strongly angers Agni.

Chapter 42: Crossroads[]

3-056 Agni asking for help to other Gods

Agni, Indra, Varuna, Chandra and Marut

(4) Long, long ago, Chandra and other Gods listen to Agni's complaints about Gandharva murdering so many humans. Agni wants to stop Gandharva and seeks the help of the other Gods but none of them agree with him. Chandra does not care about how many humans Gandharva has murdered. When Agni shows concern about how the humans must feel, Chandra reminds that Agni was against the eradication of the ancient human race too and tells him to come to his senses.

Chandra brings up the subject of Agni's betrothed, saying that Agni brought down many emotions from the top because of her. The Gods, except for Varuna, mock Agni about his betrothed. Chandra wonders if Agni is going to kill them all and they get excited about having a party in Hell.

Chapter 47: Words That Never Reached You[]

3-112 Kinnara and Gods

Indra, Kinnara, Marut and Chandra

(13) In the early universe, many Gods aided Kinnara in her quest to take the name of Airavata, among them Chandra, Indra and Marut. After Kinnara takes the name, the Gods approach her and Chandra reminds her about the promise she made to help the Gods. When the Gods spot the creation Agni made with the ancient humans, Chandra asks them if they are ready to die. They get excited about it and leave to fight it.

(16) After the annihilation of the Ancient human race, many Gods gathered around the soul of Agni's betrothed. They complained about not being able to annihilate the soul, and they feared the consequences the soul could bring about in the distant future. Indra suggested they could prevent any threat to them by putting all sorts of impediments on future incarnations of the soul. The Gods supported the proposition and proceeded to curse the soul. Chandra looked uncomfortable among the crowd.

Chapter 48: Separation[]

(1) Chandra asks Gandharva to protect Kalibloom with all his might should he wish to gain the gods' trust. Meanwhile, Chandra teleports Agwen Rajof to Atera, which is getting pummeled by attacks, and has her take over the barrier stone.

Chandra and Agwen

(2) Chandra teleports to Eloth and asks about the situation. Lutz Sairofe responds that Aeroplateau is getting attacked and they are planning to overlap the barriers of the two cities. Tilda Melliot tells Chandra he would be more useful in other cities, then apologizes after getting reprimanded by Lutz.

Chandra appears before Agwen in Atera and takes over the barrier, he then proceeds to look for the attacker.

(7) Chandra is unable to locate the sura outside of Atera, and deduces that it must have entered the city when the barrier cracked. He realizes that there will be human casualties if he fights the intruder there and that he will not gain any sins by allowing the intruder to wreak havoc. On the other hand, if anyone dies by his own transcendentals... Chandra recalls Brahma's warning to him, that in order to avoid the consequences of sin, he must remain a spectator, because the more he interferes, the further away Paradise will drift from him. Chandra appears to agonize over the situation.

Magicians within the city notice a change in the barrier and wonder if Chandra has left for another city.

3-131 Kadru and Chandra

Chandra deceives Kadru

(11) Meanwhile, the attacker starts destroying buildings left and right, incinerating people in the process. The humans shoot at him, forcing him to fly out of the barrier. He prepares to wipe out the whole city with a large-scale attack when Chandra suddenly appears next to him. Chandra addresses the sura as "Kadru" and reveals that he had only pretended to leave, hoping it would lure Kadru out of the city.

Chandra launches an attack to kill Kadru, but much to his disbelief, Kadru disappears and a Taraka portal opens close by. Taksaka exits the portal and asks Chandra what he is fighting against, as a huge sura form Taraka sura materializes behind Chandra.

(12) Chandra claims that the giant sura was Kadru, which Taksaka questions, revealing that he and Kadru were originally from the same clan. Chandra tries to recruit Taksaka's help for the fight, but Taksaka wishes to hurry to Kalibloom instead. He finally concedes to help when Chandra brings up that Taksaka's granddaughter, Agwen Rajof, is in Atera and she would die without his help.

(14) To avoid the destruction of the city, Chandra creates a separate space resembling Taitalika from the Cataclysm to contain the fight. Yet Chandra and Kadru fight in such an unsynchronized manner that the space eventually breaks. Chandra worries that he is too low on vigor to create another, because something seems to be wrong with Laila. Yet if he left, Kadru and Taksaka would probably destroy the planet.

As Chandra starts explaining a plan to lure Kadru up into space, Taksaka notices something and disappears. Only a moment later, Agni appears and attacks Kadru. To Chandra's question as to what he is doing there, Agni replies that he is protecting the most important city. And that city is Atera because Brilith cares about it the most. When Chandra calls him an idiot for this, Agni points out that Chandra's reason for being there is no better.

(15) Chandra and Agni take note of Kadru's superior regenerative abilities now that he is a Taraka, they speculate when he could have gotten eaten and why Yuta was not in control of such things.

3-140 Tarakafied Kadru and Chandra

Kadru is back

(20) Agni and Chandra successfully combine efforts to kill Kadru. Chandra says they were lucky Kadru didn't have Taraka eyes and optimistically predicts that they are almost done there. Agni notices something is wrong with Brilith and leaves him there alone. At that moment, Kadru rematerializes out of the open Taraka portal, this time with his eyes open, and cancels Chandra's transcendentals.

(21) Chandra gets caught by Kadru and considers his options. He finally decides that rather than avoid getting eaten and return to the god realm without achieving anything, he would use the Taraka fragments he had been gathering to attempt to dismantle the Taraka hivemind from the inside.

(24) Taksaka returns to Atera through a portal only to see a mostly destroyed city and a Tarakafied Chandra. Taksaka approaches Chandra and asks if he can do anything. Chandra brokenly asks to get Laila and her weapon, but Taksaka responds that getting all the way to Kalibloom is impossible. He then asks if Chandra knows where Agwen is, to which Chandra responds "below". Chandra loses control again and shockwave of purple energy runs through the city. (25) Taksaka blocks Chandra's attack and asks if Chandra has anything he wishes to protect or if he is going to fall apart so easily.

(27) Inside a white area within the Taraka consciousness, Kadru is giving Chandra a beating. He criticizes gods for acting superior even though they are weaker compared to nastikas and fails to understand when Chandra says that power is not everything. Chandra states that it is a pity that someone who has been to such places as Kadru will meet his end here.

As Kadru attempts to absorb Chandra, he suddenly feels an unbearable burden. Chandra reveals that what Kadru is feeling is the "top", which Chandra just accessed. He explains that it is a place where gods give up their desires and that since would be a problem for the universe if they all did that, they must drag themselves down continuously.

3-147 Mental battle

Mental battle

Chandra reveals that he just went to the "top". Kadru thinks there is no way Chandra could have gone to the top at the moment, but Chandra tells him that since the top is a state of mind, it is not bound by the physical. Only very few can understand the fact that the bottom and the top of the universe exist everywhere and in every being at once.

Kadru displays disbelief. As he perishes, he realizes that Chandra let himself get eaten on purpose. Since the fragment experiment went successfully, Chandra starts to look around. He sees that Kali is in no so state to move. Then he looks at Taraka, and to his surprise, he sees Menaka in her place. But before he can think more deeply on this, he starts losing his desires and fading away.

Suddenly, Yuta calls out to him warning that he cannot stay there because his body is still in motion. Chandra listens and focuses on the little things again to drag himself down once more. He notices that Laila stabbed herself with her spear. He then appears in front of her.

Laila comments that Chandra showed up as expected and that the fragment experiment must have failed. She continues that she has no intention of going down with him or sacrificing herself, she will stay alive as the last Kubera.

3-147 Chandra and Laila

Last moments

Chandra opens his eyes and thinks that the god who gave Laila her spear must have wanted things to go this way, just as Laila lunges the spear through his neck. Laila asks why Chandra did not evade. He answers that he is aware the look in her eyes will not ever change, but he lied when he said he got rotten cards. Laila was a remarkable card and her chances of winning have improved now that she has the backing of a stronger god. Before he disappears, he asks her not to lose to the cards of Visnu and Kali, and to summon him again once she obtains the ultimate power.

Chapter 49: The Golden Knight 2[]

(6) Chandra materializes in the Underworld where Brahma is flipping through some scrolls. She tells him that he was foolish to think he could make a difference when he is on bad terms with two primeval gods. Chandra retorts that he only went himself because she remains inactive. Brahma responds that she is too weak to act, she can only regain her power by taking back her creations once the universe ends. She tells Chandra that what follows need not concern him because much time would have passed before he can return to the human realm and he will not get the opportunity to interfere.

Before she leaves, Chandra asks Brahma to tell the gods that he learned about Menaka being where Taraka should be, but Brahma tells him that this is no longer relevant because that Taraka has already been destroyed by Gandharva. She further assures Chandra that with her annihilation, the Taraka clan should be under control and no longer a threat. Chandra asks Brahma if she plans to block the other threat, the resurrection of Ananta, but Brahma stays silent. Chandra also asks if she is rooting for Laila since she even gave Laila that weapon, but Brahma repeats that this has nothing to do with him and disappears.

Special Episode 8 - The South Pole Expedition[]

(1) In N22, Chandra picks 7 people to to gather Taraka fragments for him. Those involved could choose between going to the South Pole, the Land of Neverending Winter, and personally telling Chandra to bug off. Only Tilda was brave enough to take the third option.

(2) In Rindhallow, Ran presents the fragment he and Mirha had collected from the Land of Unending Winter to Chandra. Chandra is surprised that there was so little in the land of Unending Winter, and he concludes that this must mean that there is a strong sura at the South Pole. Agni sets off to rescue the members of the expedition that headed there, which is made possible by the fact that Laila gave Siera a scarf that catches on fire.

Upon the safe return of the expedition, Chandra yells at Agni for rushing into danger without a second thought, since Agni might get consumed by the Tarakas. Agni, however, pays it no mind.
