Episode 3-20[]

Season 3 Episode 20: Devastation (1)

In a flashback, Menaka explains some sort of process for change to Gandharva, that he can learn to understand it, that he should not rush it, and that it will be difficult—but by the end, he will gain time and a future happiness that she will never have. He asks her what she means by not having time.

In the present time, as his body is suffering damage from Chandra's attacks, Gandharva thinks to himself that she should never have exchanged her time, because he is a fool whose weakened body will not withstand the sura realm, and whose past has caught up with him in the human realm. He then wonders if things would have turned out differently if he had not been so indecisive before.

A familiar pair of humans,[1] one of whom is holding a torch, notices that Kalibloom has gone completely dark. Suddenly, Agni forms from the torch's flame, annoyed that this is the closest fire to Kalibloom, which means that Chandra is trying to stall him.

At the Temple of Chaos, Parr notes that none of the temple fires will re-ignite, but Clari does not think that it is a problem. Teo realizes that Chandra is trying to stall Agni, but has no idea why. Parr then wonders if the city will be damaged (in a fight between Chandra and Maruna), but Clari assures her that the Chaos barrier will disrupt attack transcendentals, plus they now have a priest candidate—Kaz, who left for the gardens because "Leez" was pestering him.

Outside the temple, Kaz chastises the naughty teal two-tailed cat. He then overhears Elwin telling someone that Teo will not tell him anything. Kaz steps out to greet her, and asks about the half she is with. Elwin stammers that he is a visitor who came to see Teo. Maruna tells her in sura speech that he will kill the human if she asks for help, demands that she take him to the priestess, and states that all the humans around them will die if she delays much longer.

Back inside Chandra's illusion of ice, he is surprised at Gandharva's stamina, even in his weak state; Gandharva is now armless and mostly legless, but is still alive. The god notes that the nastika has not bothered to defend his actions, and he worries that he cannot keep up a sustained attack within the Chaos barrier. He could use Agni's help, yet he cannot trust Agni to not interfere, either. He decides that he will risk a penalty... Agni arrives before Chandra can act, and tells him that this is too much for him alone. He then asks him if he thought he would get in his way.

Episode 3-21[]

Season 3 Episode 21: Devastation (2)

Agni, after tearing an entrance into Chandra's "Gresvan" space, tells him that he realized Chandra was mistaken after he referred to Vishnu as a mad god,[2] and states that he came here not to save Gandharva, but him. Agni also guessed that Chandra was about to break the barrier rules to improve his attacks, and states that he believes that Menaka changed Gandharva's habit of killing for his own pleasure. He then suggests that Chandra find the Garuda rakshasa and use insight on him since Gandharva is not talking. Chandra leaves once Agni promises not to let the nastika go.

At the Temple of Fire, as Brilith looks upon a portrait at the top of a familiar stairway,[3] Natasha notes that it is the only photo that was taken of Talith and Jibril, Brilith's parents, together. Brilith recalls gossip she heard as a little girl that her mother was practically married to the god, and that they felt sorry for Brilith and her father. Brilith then tells Natasha that she no longer wants to see that photo, and Natasha assures her that she will keep it at her own home. Brilith then asks her for a favor, and Natasha thinks that there is something strange about her.

As the pair of former thieves wonder if helping Agni out will benefit them in the afterlife, the lights in Kalibloom turn back on. They then notice a strange, huge, glowing red portal over the city.

Episode 3-22[]

Season 3 Episode 22: Devastation (3)

Agni tries to question Gandharva, but the nastika seems to have difficulty remembering details of why he was in the human realm in the first place, and only being able to remember two humans he met, "Riche" and "Kupatergent", wondering if they were still alive. Agni decides that Gandharva is insane, but before he can do anything, they both see a flash in the sky.

At the Eloth Magicians Guild, Ruche bursts into the office wondering why Tilda and Lutz have not boarded the transport ship, and if they plan on using her to teleport them instead. After poking a bit of fun at Ruche, Tilda reveals that they are not going to Kalibloom. Ruche questions it and points out that it was Chandra's orders. Lutz explains that it would be dangerous for him and Tilda to be there, and that he already sent an official letter to Rindhallow explaining that the Tarakas hunt their prey according to their transcendental value. He adds that since the Chaos barrier is the weakest of them all, it would be dangerous for those with high transcendental values to meet there. Cue the horde of Tarakas descending from the sky over Kalibloom...

Outside the Temple of Chaos (indicated by the red sky), people begin to panic at the sight, and attempt to rush to the checkpoint. Maruna notices that the sura realm passage is much larger this time, and Elwin asks him if he knows what is going on. As Maruna decides to use the situation as leverage, Parr, Clari, and Teo approach, and are surprised to see Maruna still on the loose. Maruna grabs Elwin's ears and orders her to ask the priestess how to use the Pledge Token. He then explains that he needs to develop or else everyone here will die. Elwin asks him if he will really stop those suras, and he replies "Yes".

Episode 3-23[]

Season 3 Episode 23: Devastation (4)

In Kalibloom at the Temple of Earth, several people yell at Siera (the Priest of Earth) that suras are descending from the sky in droves but the turrets are not working. Siera, with his hand on the barrier stone, yells back that he has no idea why. Chandra suddenly appears before him and takes over the barrier, changing the stone's attribute to Darkness. He thinks to himself that it is better to defend the barrier than look for that rakshasa, but the Temple of Chaos (outside the Earth barrier) is still undefended. He then wonders why the turrets still will not work, since the Tarakas should not be able to block them.

Teo asks Elwin what she is talking about, and she replies that this is about the item called the Eye of Perishment. Maruna asks Elwin (in sura speech) if that is the name in the human realm for the Pledge Token. She thinks to herself that this guy could be lying about helping them, and if things go bad then it becomes Teo's responsibility... Her thoughts are interrupted by the arrival of Kaz, who shouts that he knows about the item. Maruna is surprised that someone other than the priest has read about the item, contrary to what Elwin said earlier. She tries to play dumb, but Kaz begins to explain that it is an item that makes a sura develop. Elwin is frustrated with Kaz for being unable to read the situation. Maruna accuses her of lying to him, and as she protests, a Taraka sura attempts to attack Maruna, who smacks it out of the way. Parr and Teo go on the offensive to protect Elwin and Kaz. Maruna tells Elwin not to dawdle in this situation, so she explains that anyone with the right attributes will activate the barrier, regardless of whether they are the priest or just a priest candidate, so even in restricted areas, the priest candidate is recognized as equal to the priest. Maruna decides that it would be easier to get Kaz to tell him how to use the item, but Elwin continues to resist. Kaz then blurts out that he will tell Maruna all about it if he frees Elwin, who is mentally screaming at Kaz for being an idiot.

Agni uses a fire transcendental to attack as many Tarakas as he can before they can open their eyes, but feels that he is not quick enough because of the Chaos barrier's interference. Suddenly, three blue-white beams instantly vaporize three flying suras. Agni looks down at Gandharva, who now looks older again and with long blue hair; his hand is now smoking and missing three fingers, and he tells the fire god that he will help him fight.

Episode 3-24[]

Season 3 Episode 24: Devastation (5)

Agni is convinced that Gandharva has lost his mind, as the latter mumbles about not wanting to eat shellfish. However, the god says that he will not refuse the help of even a madman against the Tarakas.

At the Rindhallow temple common area, Claude informs Laila that he has received an official letter from Lutz, and insists that the current situation in Kalibloom is urgent. Laila's stance, however, is that there is nothing they can do from where they are. Claude criticizes her for her lack of emotion, but Laila counters that he has less humanity than anyone else. Claude replies that there is someone worse than him, and describes Asha Rahiro's crimes. They then begin to discuss her, noting that they were unable to recall her murderous actions until just now. Claude cautions that Asha will try to reappear soon, and others will begin to remember her, especially...

Brilith is determined to learn silent magic, and Natasha notes that it is strange that she lacks Flame Mastery since it is a common skill among fire magicians. Brilith suspects that something is preventing her from using silent magic, but Natasha tells her that she is overthinking it, and tries to convince her that it would be better if she avoids using it. Brilith suddenly collapses, and has another vision of young Asha.

Episode 3-25[]

Season 3 Episode 25: Devastation (6)

Agni continues to fight in the air while Gandharva fights from the ground, until Agni has a vision of Brilith having collapsed. Both his vigor and his body plummet.

In Rindhallow, Claude shows Laila an official letter from Atera with news of Brilith's condition. He states that since she was in the next room during Saha's murder, she felt the most shocked as soon as Asha's existence began to return. He begs Laila to use Dream Tracking to wake up Brilith, but Laila cautions that not only could she be having a mental breakdown, but she herself is unable to get to Atera. Claude suggests that she call Chandra in order to teleport her, but she says that she is unable to. Claude then stabs her desk with a dagger, suggesting that Chandra will appear immediately if he felt her life was threatened. Laila claims that it would be risky. Claude observes that this is unlike her to not give the safety of the cities her highest priority.

Gandharva asks Agni if there is a problem with his summoner, and if so, he should return to Atera immediately. Agni replies that he lacks the required vigor to teleport, and informs Gandharva that he has always betrayed his trust. Agni adds that he is simply putting off the inevitable, and if it was not for Menaka, he would not have given him this last chance. Chandra appears, and asks Agni what happened. The fire god asks him to take him to the Temple of Earth so he can operate the barrier, but Chandra replies that he is not strong enough, especially due to the fact that he still has yet to recover from the penalty for using the Neutral Bow seven years ago because of Gandharva—who is surprised to hear this. Agni claims that there is no other way, and asks Chandra to take both him and Gandharva to the temple; because once the Tarakas open their eyes, even this nastika will be at the mercy of the fighters. Agni tells Chandra to take Laila to Atera, like he himself did before, but the God of Darkness balks, claiming that Laila does not trust him enough. Agni tells him to put his trust in her, because she can deceive herself for the greater good.

Laila sits at her desk with her mask in front of her, as if she is waiting.
