Episode 3-34[]

Season 3 Episode 34: Twisted Bird (1)

As Brilith continues to attack the Taraka suras, Chandra watches her and muses how Agni is an unlucky fellow whose relationships have failed after his first love betrayed him. However, the present Brilith is helpful in this battle. He amplifies and multiplies Brilith's attacks with a transcendental. He believes that they can take many of them out before they open their eyes, and when that happens, Brilith will no longer be so dangerous; his plan is to take the Staff of Agni away from her and take her to a safe place as soon as that happens. He then notices that even though there are no more suras coming through the gate, it has yet to close, as if it is waiting for something.

At the Temple of Chaos, Kaz complains about Maruna's assault. Once again, he warns him that he will not get the Eye of Perishment back if he kills him. Maruna would very much like to tear Kaz apart, but finds himself unable to do so without any alternatives at hand. He never expected the usage of the item to include a summoning spell, and wonders if this means that a human's help is needed to activate it. How Samphati managed to do it is a mystery.[1] Kaz interrupts his train of thought by wondering whether he should let Maruna develop or not. Elwin told him that Maruna offered his help against the suras once he develops, but there is no guarantee for that. Kaz adds that recently, some rakshasas have gained the trust of humans, such as a rakshasa called Yuta who was given permission to enter the city in N16, and another called Shess who participated in the Fighter Championship in N19. The reason these rakshasas could mingle among humans is that they were approved by the gods. Maruna could imagine Agni allowing it, but not Chandra. Kaz then states that since he cannot make the choice himself, seeking the approval of the gods is the way to go. The idea makes Maruna nervous.

At the Temple of Earth, someone informs Siera that the Chaos Temple has been evacuated, and that Teo and all the fighters are now inside the Earth Barrier. The Earth priest asks if they found the cause for the inoperative turrets, and is told that no defects have been found. Laila arrives and asks Siera about Agni's whereabouts. He answers that the god is beside the barrier stone, and that he dismissed everyone to discuss something in private with a half, who was brought in by Chandra and locked up by the stone in a jail that suppresses the sura form. Laila quickly deduces that it is likely a superior sura. Siera counters that it is not a rakshasa since it was definitely talking, so Laila figures that it must be a nastika instead. The attack on Kalibloom seven years ago was, after all, beyond what a rakshasa could accomplish. Shocked, Siera makes the connection between the imprisoned half and the sura. Laila furthermore deduces that the gods have not killed it yet in order to extract information.

In the barrier stone room, Agni tells the jailed Gandharva that he is not in the mood for him to ramble like he did earlier.[2] The nastika replies that his thoughts were jumbled and he did not mean to talk about those things. Agni asks him whether he can finally tell him who made him attack Kalibloom, and Gandharva reveals that it was Sagara. Realizing that over the last seven years, he had been unable to even think of Sagara, Gandharva deduces that something strange must be going on, and he is sure that he was not the only one affected. And sure enough, even Agni is shocked about not having thought of that enemy for all that time, asking himself why he suddenly can now.

Somewhere in a dark chasm, an unclothed Sagara silently sits, glaring into the darkness.

Episode 3-35[]

Season 3 Episode 35: Twisted Bird (2)

Sagara calls out for Riagara, searching the vicinity of the deep crater. All she finds are traces of broken bones, however. Furious, she releases a purplish aura.

Chandra is still observing Brilith, not having expected for her to wipe out all the flying Taraka suras. He had originally planned to wait for the Taraka eyes to neutralize Brilith, but now has to rely on the fact that she allowed him to amplify her attacks and approach her openly. The god calls out to Brilith, urging her to not use any more power and offering to take her to safety, but is targeted by a bhavati agni in response. Dodging and activating his shadow form, Chandra assumes that she indeed has lost her mind. Startled, he also realizes that he cannot use insight on her.

Without saying a word, Brilith turns away and teleports once again, this time to a place not far from the Chaos temple, where still many Tarakas gather. Following her, Chandra wonders if she plans to wipe those out as well, when suddenly Kaz, accompanied by Maruna, appears and addresses Brilith, suggesting that they return to the safety of the Earth barrier together. However, Brilith shows a dark expression and attacks him and the rakshasa.

When Kaz opens his eyes again, Maruna is shielding him, and Chandra is blocking the attack. The god of darkness calls Brilith out on attacking a human despite her duty to protect the cities. If she keeps using that power, she will end up dying. In return, Brilith criticizes Chandra for protecting a sura, and also dismisses the god's interjection that Kaz is a valuable human with rare triple Nil attributes who needs to be kept alive. For the greater good, a single human life is an acceptable price. The fire priestess states that the gods rate lives by how useful they still are, and reveals that she heard Chandra urging Agni to look for another summoner back in Aeroplateau.[3] She cynically asks if her life's value has changed compared to back then. The fact that gods determine the value of a life this way sickens her. Flames extending around her, she launches another attack.

At a shore near Kalibloom, Ran coughs up some water, asking Shess if he is not scared of running at such high speeds, since simply tripping could send one straight to the afterlife. Typing on the tablet, the rakshasa marvels over the device still being functional despite falling into the water, prompting Ran to explain how this invention helped his brother become the richest person on the planet. Shess teasingly remarks that Ran is also still alive after falling into water, but then apologizes for tripping. Running on water requires high concentration. The magician is not mad at him, however, and thanks him for bringing him to Kalibloom. Looking around, he spots the city not too far away, but the famous black sky over the city has turned red, with a white spatial rift looming above it.

Episode 3-36[]

Season 3 Episode 36: Twisted Bird (3)

People at the Temple of Earth gossip about the apparent fight in the distance, the enlarging portal overhead, and how wonderful it is to have two of the best gods around. Siera asks if the gods can really be trusted, and they reply that they must have faith in the gods, who will protect them and destroy all the suras. Siera agrees that it is how it should be, yet he seems somewhat uncertain that the prisoner who wreaked havoc on the city seven years ago will soon be dead at the hands of the gods. Gandharva, still behind bars in the barrier orb room, watches as Agni disappears. Kaz's pet is left behind in the snow.

Maruna realizes that he reflexively blocked Kaz because of the item, and decides that he needs to get away because Chandra does not have the same reputation for fairness as Agni. He notices the look of terror on Kaz's face, which is so unlike his confident look before, and grabs him.

Brilith blames Chandra for allowing the rakshasa to fly off, and asks him if he let it run free on purpose ever since the red sky incidents seven years ago which killed over thirty thousand people. She insists that he must be killed even if the hostage dies as well, and charges up the Staff of Agni to attack. Chandra grabs the staff, and she guesses that he wants to protect the rakshasa, not Kaz. She scoffs at the fact that humans have unconditional faith in someone like him and declares that Yama is the only normal god, since the rest fear destruction yet find no meaning in death, and the history of humans was buried by them. She fires up the staff again, and Chandra is disturbed by the realization that this is not a simple matter of a broken mind—she is now a completely different person. Agni suddenly appears, asking her to stop. He puts his hand on hers, and the staff goes dark. She tells him that he knew this whole time since Yama surely warned him seven years ago, and is angry at him for watching her with insight over the years, checking to see if she had awoken. She states that he ignored her last wish and failed to protect her so many times, including once a thousand years ago.[4][5] She calls him an idiot and walks toward the portal. Agni tells her that she will die if she passes through it, and she replies that she is aware of that. She adds that she is unable to last in this life, yet she is also unable to enter Heaven, so she will fight with all the strength she has left and meet her end. She then reminds him that her last wish is to never get involved with him again. As she leaves, Chandra realizes that this is the reason Agni insisted on keeping her as his summoner, since it was her. He had also told Yama to get rid of her to avoid further problems, but he did not.

Flashback to seven years ago... Yama tells Agni that he will not tell him why he has never seen Brilith's future in spite of reading her thoughts with insight for the pat ten years, and that all his efforts to stop her lifespan from being reduced is in vain.[6]

Episode 3-37[]

Season 3 Episode 37: Twisted Bird (4)

Brilith faces the portal, turns into flames, and attacks the emerging suras. She thinks to herself that she is headed for certain death, but Agni does not follow; if she wanted to live, he would do anything to save her, but he knows that she wants to die so he lets her, and things have been this way since the beginning of the universe.

In an unknown location with a green sky, both Brahma—chewing bubblegum—and Yama are aware of "Agni's woman" being on the brink of death; Yama notes that Agni does not follow her when she wants to die. He then gripes about the stupidity of the fire god, and that he becomes a fool whenever she awakens. When Brahma remarks that the two gods carry too much baggage between them and that they should seek some inner peace, Yama glowers at her and suggests that she not talk to him if she will not help him with his work, since there are many dying people to process. Brahma then mentions that Vayu has returned from supporting the Kinnara clan and asked which planet in the human realm is in most need of his support... but Yama interrupts her, demanding that she stop speaking to him.

Brilith's consciousness seems to linger in a rocky place with many waterfalls, a red, sparkling river, and a pink-orange sky. She thinks to herself that upon regaining her memories from the very beginning, that the memories of her most recent life were more vivid than her older memories, making her current life feel more real. However, the more lives she lived, the less significant her present life's memories became. After the first hundreds of millions of years had passed, the memories of countless lives together had formed this blood-red river. She compares her present self to a cup of water spilled into that river and getting lost in the current. Even though she has been many people of different appearances, abilities, and attributes, he still loved each one of her. She then wonders what a god actually considers love. What she also does not understand is why she always falls in love with him and looks forward to a happy future every time she loses her memories and meets him again. In all of the happiest memories of her past lives buried in that river, there was always Agni. She looks forward to returning and losing her memories and her ill will towards the gods, because as both he and the universe are immortal, they will someday meet again and she will fall in love once more...

Leez yells at Brilith to wake up. The light of the portal is nearby, and both women are sitting on the back of Kasak in dragon form. Leez asks her why she jumped into the portal without Agni, then instructs Kasak to hurry and get them to the city. Brilith asks them to leave her behind, because the universe is infinite, he is immortal, and she will start over again. Leez yells back at her, asking her what she is talking about because the universe is about to come to an end.

Episode 3-38[]

Season 3 Episode 38: Twisted Bird (5)

Brilith is surprised at Leez's words, and asks if she means that planets and galaxies are dying. Leez tells her yes, and that more than half of the sura realm has already been destroyed. She adds that the Garudas have been annihilated, and the only survivors of the Gandharva and Ananta clans were those who took refuge with the Asuras. As for the Asuras, their nastikas are still in good shape but the rakshasas and below have been decimated. The Yakshas and the Kinnaras formed an emergency alliance with the gods, but even they have lost some of their nastikas. And the Vritra clan... Brilith interrupts, alarmed that the gods have joined forces with suras. Leez states that those things are a threat to every race. Brilith seems to recall these words from her past: "Their existence threatens the universe. Before they become a problem, we will recreate them. But what of those that already exist? Well..."

Brilith remarks that she was in a similar situation, a very long time ago, when the gods and suras worked together to drive off a common enemy. Leez is surprised and says that she never heard about that, but admits that her knowledge of history is lacking in spite of learning as much as she could from Yuta and Mr. Kasak. Brilith reveals that it happened billions of years ago and no historical records exist anymore. Leez changes the subject and asks Brilith to help Mr. Kasak stop the pursuing suras from crossing through the gate before it closes. Brilith proceeds to activate the Staff of Agni and casts a fusion spell: hoti agni bhavati agni. Many laser-like beams disintegrate the suras they hit, destroying them all. Leez looks on in surprise as Kasak states that it looks like he is not needed.

At the Temple of Earth, people begin to notice that Kasak has emerged from the gate, and remark that he had been missing for seven years. Laila notices that the turrets have suddenly activated, and yells at Siera to run to the barrier orb.

The turrets begin firing on Kasak, who manages to dodge most of the attacks; Leez blocks one attack using a transcendental from her sword. She is alarmed since he had told her earlier that the turrets would not be a problem, but Kasak explains that they are a bit different than normal, and that a god may be powering them as well as the barrier. Leez then notices that the turrets have suddenly stopped firing.

Siera, now operating the barrier orb, wonders why the turrets would not fire upon all those suras, yet they attacked Mr. Kasak. Chandra, standing next to Agni, praises Siera for taking over and preventing Kasak from being hit before they could return. He then wonders what the Tarakas are evolving into, because the barriers could be the next thing to become useless against them. He tells Agni that it is good news that Brilith is now with Kasak, but Agni just looks down in silence. As Chandra tries to press him into speaking, Gandharva watches from inside his jail with a worried expression.

As they walk towards Kalibloom, Ran remarks to Shess that the gate vanished once Mr. Kasak passed through it, and it appears that Chandra took care of the Tarakas that passed through earlier. Shess, via his tablet, notes that the Chaos barrier would interfere with the gods' transcendentals. Ran wonders if Chandra amplified the magic of magicians instead, but Shess points out that magic calculation is also disrupted, although a magician proficient in silent magic could steer the direction of a spell already cast. Ran relates that he knew a magician who could steer the path of lightning after it was already activated, and that she could even teleport in spite of the disruption in calculations... Ran suddenly notes that it is strange that he had not thought of this magician—who was arrested for killing many people, broke out of prison, and committed yet another terrible crime—for seven years. He decides that he will enter the city and meet with Mr. Kasak and the gods to discuss the matter. As they continue walking together, Ran asks how a rakshasa like him managed to get so friendly with the gods, but Shess retorts that he is not friends with them. Behind a nearby tree, Sagara can be seen watching them before turning and walking away.

Episode 3-39[]

Season 3 Episode 39: Twisted Bird (6)

Kasak lands near Kalibloom's upper checkpoint, and the people inside have stepped out to watch. Elwin wonders if that means that Kasak was in the sura realm since he disappeared. Brilith steps off of Kasak first, and the onlookers recognize Leez because of the Sword of Return that she carries.

At the lower checkpoint, Ran reads a sign about the new Half Family Registration which was introduced at the beginning of this year, N23. It is now considered murder to kill a half registered as a family, and such halfs cannot be sponsored without prior permission from a family representative. Ran wonders if Agwen had registered Shess already, which means that Ran cannot sponsor him to enter the city right away. They suddenly feel a strong rush of air. Shess quickly excuses himself and disappears. Someone who recognizes Ran emerges from the checkpoint and tells him to hurry inside.

At the Temple of Earth, Laila greets Brilith, and explains to her that the person she saw in the dream was not her, but Claude, who used bhavati yama without her knowledge. When she asks what Claude did at the end of her dream to wake her up, Brilith pauses, apologizes, and promises to avenge him, which confuses Laila. Agni arrives and calls for Brilith, asking if they could talk for a moment. Brilith calls on Siera to lead all the priests, Leez, and Mr. Kasak to the meeting room since Agni wishes to speak with them. Siera whispers to Laila that Brilith seems so much different from when he last saw her a year ago, and Laila agrees that something seems off, and that something possibly happened during the 'Dream Tracking'.

Maruna is frustrated because he is unable to speak, and Kaz is not talking to him, probably because he is still in shock from the attack. Maruna wonders what the big deal is, then realizes that if the human dies, there is still someone better already, and therefore the others consider him disposable. He concludes that Kaz is just a weak human who pretended to be tough, and decides to show some sympathy to him in order to reach his goal. Shess suddenly approaches him and asks if he has anything to do with the situation in Kalibloom. Maruna at first assumes he is trying to save the human, who mentioned Shess earlier as an example of a superior sura in the human world.[7] Maruna is about to tell Shess to forget about taking the human, when Kaz suddenly states that Shess is also a 4th-stage rakshasa who could use the Eye of Perishment to develop. He then declares that he decided to help the rakshasa who will use the Eye of Perishment to wish for his happiness. Maruna thinks to himself that he could just pretend, but the wish has to be sincere. Shess seems to think about the situation.

Episode 3-40[]

Season 3 Episode 40: Twisted Bird (7)

Maruna tells Shess that there is a penalty for using the Eye of Perishment, and thinks it is ridiculous that the human is even considering letting Shess develop since he has no reason to. Shess looks at the dejected Kaz, and counters that anyone who gets the chance to develop should take it. Maruna appears to panic for a moment before Shess explains that the penalty is not so great since it depends on how much the normal amount of time to develop is shortened, and in his own case, he is far beyond the average time so it would be an easy matter to just wish for Kaz's happiness. Maruna balks, so Shess asks him if he would rather attempt it first, and wonders if he could ever wish for a human's happiness. Maruna realizes that he is right, yet is determined to develop first, somehow.

Brilith and Leez converse during a walk outdoors, praising each other's skills. Leez is humble, claiming she only has a few skills obtained by luck. Brilith asserts that Leez has already surpassed those narrow-minded beings who are in no way better than humans. Leez asks if she means gods and suras, and Brilith is surprised that she included the gods. Leez compares them to annoying bulliess, and compares suras to gangsters who cause more serious damage.

In Meeting Room No.2, Leez and Kasak speak with Teo while behind some curtains, Chandra complains that Leez called him a bully in her thoughts when he used Insight on her to check if she became a spy while in the sura realm. Agni tells him that he has no need to doubt her since he already saw her future seven years ago. Chandra asks if her future has not altered in that time, and Agni replies that ever since Vishnu disappeared, he has never seen the future seen through Insight change; even when he tries to prevent something bad from happening, everything still goes according the insight. Jibril stands over a man on the ground who is burning. Chandra asks him what future he saw, but Agni tells him that he is better off not knowing and suggests that they start the meeting.

Agni begins by praising Brilith's actions against the suras and her skill with silent magic which compensates for the disruptions in calculations. He then asserts that for now only the weak ones have attacked, but in the future the passages will only become larger and more frequent; he adds that Leez and Kasak would naturally know about it. At this point, Kasak is already asleep and Siera becomes anxious about his timing. Leez takes this opportunity to reveal that those suras were weak because of Yuta's sacrifice. She stands, and says that the gods should already be aware of the fact that Yuta is the King of the Taraka clan, who took the position after Kali's disappearance hundreds of years ago. She adds that Taraka herself was only a decoy. Sura clans are affected by the state of their kings, but it is even more intense for the Tarakas, to the extent that when Yuta tears out his eyes, the eyes of the rest of his clan are blinded as well. The Tarakas they have seen so far were sightless and fought clumsily because Yuta removed his own eyes and bound himself. Since Yuta is unable to change the will of Kali which causes the clan's madness, he struggles instead to reduce the damage they cause. Laila asks if his death would mean the end of the Tarakas, or if a weaker one would inherit the throne. Leez answers that it would be neither, because the true king would have the same ability as the fake: Resurrection. He would also lose his memories and become the true monster that Kali intended.

Episode 3-41[]

Season 3 Episode 41: Twisted Bird (8)

In a flashback, Yuta tells Leez that if he is killed someday, she must not come near him, and she should not expect him to remember her anymore. Instead of standing up to him, the place she must go to is...

Outside the Temple of Earth, Siera approaches Leez and apologizes for Laila's blunt question.[8] He adds that he feels left out among the priests who have mastered silent magic, even though he has no desire to give up his own humanity for "Blessing of Food" and "Fortune". Leez notes that there are so many types of Earth silent magic, as she recalls a list Vayu had shown her, but none are useful to her in battle. Siera says that he does not think it is normal for magicians to be so callous in regards to her sad situation, but then they say that he is not normal for being unable to manage his vigor. He then asks her how she manages hers, because without silent magic it can often fail due to emotional ups and downs. Leez replies that she does not really know, but she heard...

In a flashback in the sura realm, Vayu seems amazed at how similar to Rao Leez has become, and that in some ways, she is even scarier than the humans who use silent magic to subdue their emotions, since she can draw vigor regardless of her emotions through lies. He then tells her that living a false life and deceiving even herself will interfere with her relationships with others, causing her to live a lonely life like her father's. At the end of the flashback is a scene, possibly an insight by Vayu of Leez regenerating her limbs.

Leez then reveals that she was told that her vigor management resembles that of her father, Rao Leez. Sierra seems surprised at the revelation, noting that her resemblance to him was not a coincidence after all, and that Teo was fussing about it earlier. As he leaves to go fetch Laila and Teo, Leez wonders why Vayu said what he did if everyone still respects the memory of her father.

At the Lake of Reflection in the Temple of Chaos, Chandra notes that there are nastikas who would kill Yuta, not believing that he will resurrect, and that there is also a limit to what he can endure, so they must use Kali's fragments to control the Taraka clan and make a sacrifice. He next suggests killing Gandharva since he does not believe he has truly reformed, plus Laila and Siera already figured out who he is so soon everyone will know as well. He begins to state that the humans of today do not know much other than legends of his genocide of humans... and then realizes that Brilith knows everything. Agni confirms it, adding that Brilith was also present on Gresvan during the fiendish magic controversy 1000 years ago. Chandra concludes that it will be impossible to shelter Gandharva, unless they kill Brilith before knowledge of human history spreads.

Episode 3-42[]

Season 3 Episode 42: Twisted Bird (9)

At the Temple of Chaos, Chandra suggests to Agni that they get rid of Brilith. Agni recalls that during the early universe, several gods, namely Chandra, Surya, Marut, Asvins, Indra, and Varuna, tried to pressure him into giving up his engagement to the woman he held in his lap. They said that her soul must be destroyed since she has no place among the new humanity, and he would only condemn her to an existence of endless reincarnations. Back in the present time Agni gets angry, turns white, and slams Chandra into the ground in response. He growls that he only seemed weak the past seven years because Brilith had difficulty maintaining him, but now things are different. Chandra asks him that if Brilith is now so much more useful, why is he even bothering with Gandharva?

During Leez's chat with the four priests—Laila, Brilith, Teo, and Siera, Brilith excuses herself due to a headache caused by a certain god. As she walks away, she overhears Laila telling the others that the gods' captive is probably Gandharva, who arrived with a strong rakshasa that will probably return for a certain item. Teo mentions that the rakshasa also kidnapped Kaz, and Leez is shocked to hear his name.

At the Temple of Earth, as Gandharva thinks to himself that he should be able to explain the reasons for his actions seven years ago, Brilith approaches him, wondering out loud why a half would be put in a cell that prevents surafication. She then suggests that he must be a rakshasa, but Gandharva denies it. Brilith then suggests that since he can speak, he is actually a nastika. In fact, he is the one who destroyed the worlds she lived on 13 times... "Gandharva".

Episode 3-43[]

Season 3 Episode 43: Twisted Bird (10)

Unlike most everyone else who merely suspects that he is Gandharva, Brilith knows for certain, since she has seen him in person in more than one of her past lives. She recalls when he encased every human on planet Halmut in ice two hundred million years ago, all the while smiling. She reveals that she hid the fact that he had personally killed her several times from Agni because the god was not strong enough to defeat him, and that she wanted to wait for the day to use this fact against Gandharva.

Brilith states that he should have realized who she is at this point, and that she had been on thirteen planets that he destroyed. She only survived the 13th attack on planet Gresvan because it was a life where she was special to Agni, and he thought he was doing the god a favor. Gandharva insists that she could not possibly have reincarnated the previous twelve times, but she counters that even though he also destroyed souls during his large-scale slaughter of humans, she was protected by her betrothal to Agni. She does not understand why Agni would hold on to a contract with a mere human since the beginning of time, but Gandharva should consider how he would react if he hears about her twelve deaths at his hands. He recalls Agni's anger when he stated that he had killed her back then,[4] and tells her that if she wants him dead she can just tell Agni the truth. He claims that she has no reason to worry about him destroying planets anymore, but she points out that he no longer has the power to do so, so his resolution means little. She then reveals that the Taraka clan has decimated the sura realm, and that the surviving members of the Gandharva clan fled to the Asura clan, including a nastika named Makara. Gandharva is surprised at the revelation and begs her to tell him about the rakshasa with Makara. Instead, as strong as her grudge is against Gandharva, Brilith decides to let him be for the sake of saving the universe, but extracts one promise from him.

As Agni considers Chandra's words, he thinks that neither has to die since Gandharva is only beginning to live up to Menaka's sacrifice, and that it would be better to go and persuade Brilith. She happens to be passing through at that moment, but turns away when he calls her. She suddenly thrusts the Staff of Agni towards him, and demands to know if Chandra mentioned killing her in order to keep her quiet about what happened at the beginning of time. Agni replies that he will follow whatever she decides, as always. She then tells him to inform Chandra that if she wanted to reveal the past, she would have already done so. She adds that she has handled her issues with Gandharva—surprising Agni—and suggests that back then, the gods made a mistake in eliminating the humans instead of the nastikas, who lack the wisdom to govern their powers. Yet now they need all the power they can get, including that of a gangster, since the greater goal is to protect the present universe. She also suggests that Agni, too, should put aside his personal feelings and concentrate on the current situation.

Episode 3-44[]

Season 3 Episode 44: Twisted Bird (11)

Gandharva is hopeful that Shakuntala is alive. Chandra appears outside his cell and wonders why Agni is trying to keep him alive. He then states that because of the mess he made seven years ago, they cannot keep his identity a secret for long, so they should come up with an explanation for the attack on Kalibloom in the year N16. He adds, however, that it will be harder to explain the red sky incidents of N15, and that Agni said that he was in league with those who destroyed all those villages

A short time earlier, before Brilith's departure, she asks Gandharva if he has come up with a cover story, but he insists on finding out more about the rakshasa with Makara. She replies that he needs to get the details from the human named Leez Haias, who also happened to lose her village in a red sky incident, and who would also hold hatred for any sura that has slaughtered humans.

Once Chandra gets Gandharva's attention again, he reminds him that they need to come up with a way to explain the red sky incidents as well. Gandharva asks about the human named Leez Haias, and Chandra tells him that she has stated that there are survivors in his clan who took refuge with the Asura clan, including Makara. Gandharva, still wanting information on his daughter, asks Chandra if he could use Insight on the human. This suggestion only angers Chandra, who transforms to his darker form and complains about searching through all the unpleasantness in her mind just to gain info on his daughter. When Chandra tells him to ask her himself, he decides he needs to make a good enough impression on her in order to overshadow the terrible stories about him. Chandra then asks him again how he will explain away the red sky incidents. Gandharva replies that he should tell the humans that he arrived on this planet to stop the red sky incidents, though a little too late because someone else had already carried them out.

Back at the purple-watered beach, Shess asks Maruna why he is desperate enough to develop despite the penalties. He replies that Gandharva was captured by the gods, and the situation in the sura realm is bad, and that both situations are impossible to resolve unless he develops to 5th stage. As Shess rationalizes the situation, Maruna asks how he could be so calm, and asks if he no longer has any attachment to his clanmates, including his mother. Shess assures him that the Kinnara clan will be fine since they remained low-key along with the Yaksha and Vritra clans during the fiendish magic controversy. As a result, the gods expressed their thanks by promising them aid in the future, and in the sura realm, extreme changes can happen when the gods create a favorable environment for a particular clan. When Maruna asks if that means they were allied with the gods, Shess says that that is not quite what he meant, and adds that it would be hard for him to understand. Maruna protests that he is over a thousand years old, and he was in his 1st stage at the time, but he still sort of remembers it all, and feels that the humans deserved to be punished for renouncing the suras. Shess states that he will be unable to develop right now with that mindset, prompting Maruna to charge up a transcendental and threaten to kill Kaz if Shess develops instead.

Ran continues to wait for Shess inside the checkpoint, as a server brings him the hot chocolate he ordered. Leez suddenly appears and calls him by name. Ran is so surprised that he pours the hot beverage into his lap.

Episode 3-45[]

Season 3 Episode 45: Twisted Bird (12)

As Maruna threatens to zap Kaz, Shess tells him that he understands his situation, and will not use the Eye of Perishment. He adds that Maruna would be unable to wish for the human's happiness if he scares him like that.

Using the tablet, Shess explains to Kaz that this guy is not yet able to wish for his happiness, he himself does not wish to anger the Garuda clan, and the passage in the sky is now gone, so he should just return to the city. Maruna asks about the tablet, and Shess explains that it speaks when you write on it. Maruna first shows interest in using it, but when Shess reminds him of his determination to avoid human items, he then says he was only curious and would never use such a thing. Shess calls him immature, which angers him. Shess then suggests that Maruna work on building trust between himself and Kaz, so that he will be more likely to take the risk to let him develop when things get more serious. Neither Kaz nor Maruna want to return to Kalibloom, but when Shess learns that Chandra stopped the human magician's attack on them, Shess deems it safe for them to return because the decision of a god is absolute.

After Ran is healed of his burns, Leez notes that he reacted the same way when she was under the hoti yama spell.[9] Ran blurts out that it is because of her resemblance to someone. Leez finally admits that her father was Rao Leez, and reveals that he was not only famous in the human realm, but was known among the suras and gods as well. She adds that once she turned about twenty, she was constantly being told of their resemblance. Ran still finds it hard to believe that she lived in the sura realm for seven years. Teo interrupts, saying that their trace of Kaz reveals that he is approaching their location. Kaz and Shess arrive.

Maruna recalls Shess telling him to wait outside in order to avoid a fight with the humans before the gods arrive. He is not sure if he can trust him, but since he is dedicated to helping the weaker side and the Garuda clan suffered so many losses, he decides to wait.

Ran mistakenly thinks Shess is the one who kidnapped Kaz, but Shess tells him via tablet not to be ridiculous. Kaz and Leez finally meet again.

Kasak is still asleep at the meeting table. Someone remarks that he has been sleeping there since the meeting. Another person tells someone to wake him up, because they have to clean up, but the person tells them to wake him up themselves.
