1-38 Manasvin and Sagara

With Manasvin

(3) In a flashback to the Sura realm some time after the Cataclysm, Sagara accompanies the Ananta king Manasvin during his visit to Gandharva, where he proposes a plan that could, among other things, improve the current deplorable situation of the Gandharva clan, but Gandharva strongly rejects it. Gandharva tells Manasvin to take his plan to Asura, and Manasvin answers that he already did. Asura was interested, but he ultimately declined.

Sagara suggests that they should pitch the plan to Airavata instead since there was no way Gandharva would agree because he is on good terms with the Garuda clan. On his way out, Manasvin alerts Gandharva that the poison of the sura realm is taking a heavy toll on Shakuntala, and she has been hiding this fact from her father by healing herself. As an expert on poisons, Manasvin can tell.

1-39 Sagara and her bodyguards

Sagara and her bodyguards

In the present day, Sagara crosses to the Human realm through a gate opened by Kubera.

(4) Sagara finds herself facing Gandharva, who is eager to cross over to the Sura realm to search for his daughter Shakuntala. Sagara promptly insults him and his daughter, claiming that Shakuntala died a long time ago, and audaciously offering advice on how to act as a king since she is now the king of the Ananta clan. Out of rage, Gandharva slashes at her neck, much to her surprise. Riagara comes out of the gate and blocks the slash with her arm before Gandharva’s blow can hit Sagara. Gandharva bitterly comments how Sagara glued herself first to Ananta, then Manasvin, and when she finally became king herself, has lackeys to fight for her. Pingara quickly joins them too, and Sagara, having the protection of both rakshasas, continues teasing Gandharva and threaten that unlike him, her rakshasa bodyguards can transform freely into their sura forms and dispatch his weakened human form. Unexpectedly, Maruna arrives to defend Gandharva and threatens to eat all of them just like he already did with their clanmates in the area. Pingara helps the three of them escape when Maruna strikes them with a transcendental.

You're pathetic, Gandharva. You want me to tell you, once and for all? That defective weakling of yours died a long time ago.

– Sagara to Gandharva [1]
It's your duty to re-marry. It isn't as if the Gandharva clan lacks beautiful women. You’re surrounded by them, and yet you only have eyes for your daughter… what are you, impotent?

– Sagara to Gandharva [1]
Hiding

Spying

(5) From a near mountain, concealed by Pingara's Hiding transcendental, the three of them observe how an enraged Gandharva confronts Kubera. Gandharva realizes that crossing over to the Sura realm through Kubera's gate will be impossible for him as Sagara's forces keep crossing over and it is a one-way gate. Gandharva threatens to stop supporting Kubera, but the god calmly states that if Gandharva does not help him, he will not open more portals, and Gandharva's daughter will be lost. Gandharva backs down and agrees to attack Rindhallow once he cools his head a bit. He leaves, telling Kubera and Maruna not to look for him. After that, other suras –including Clophe, Cloche, Hura, and Shess– and the half Leny cross over through the gate.

An amused Sagara weighs her options and chooses the safer one. She states that they will seek Maruna's help once he is alone.

1-41 hey there

Hello

(6) Sagara approaches Maruna proposing that they attack Atera instead of Rindhallow since the latter option will be more dangerous for Gandharva in his current state. Sagara states that Kubera told her about Maruna and Gandharva's attack on Atera because the human with a god's name escaped to that city after Maruna failed to kill it in a little village. And they retreated after Gandharva had made a deal with god Agni, in which Agni agreed to return to the God realm and not to answer any more summons as long as his current summoner remains unharmed.[2][3][4]

Sagara points out that they can attack Atera while honoring the promise.

(7) Sagara asks Maruna to break the city's barrier, and the Ananta clan will handle the rest. Maruna refuses and flies off as he distrusts her intentions. Sagara compares how alike Maruna is to his father. She lets him go but believes that Maruna will change his mind when he realizes how bad Gandharva's current emotional state is.

Chapter 8: The Wavering King[]

1-51 disconsolate Sagara

Crying for Ananta

(1) In a flashback to the Sura realm, while Sagara mourns Ananta's death, Manasvin suggests she go back to her former lover Vasuki because he is now the strongest in the clan, which means he will be the new king. Sagara is surprised by such a proposal as she and Manasvin are lovers, but concedes when Manasvin states that he is aware of her desire for a place of power, and she can achieve it next to Vasuki.

When Sagara arrives at Taksaka's nest – where Vasuki currently lives – she is outraged to see that Vasuki shifted to female form. Once Huia (Vasuki's nickname) explains she will live like that from now on, Sagara realizes that Manasvin will be king as he is now stronger than Vasuki. She leaves, furious with Huia, and returns to Manasvin.

In the present day, Sagara notices that some of her clanmates are hurt, and she is delighted to learn that the reason is that some Gandharva clan suras attacked them.

I cannot even begin to comprehend how much he loves me.

– Sagara about Manasvin [5]
1-53 Sagara

Join me!

(3) Sagara approaches Maruna after an aggressive Gandharva clan sura attacks him and she criticizes Gandharva's lack of emotional control. She then asks why Maruna thinks Kubera played Gandharva. Maruna assumes that Kubera must have been hoping that Gandharva clan suras would be more useful for attacking cities in an angry state. Sagara debunks this idea and explains that Kubera's goal was to get Gandharva out of the picture and have the army attack Atera. She repeats her proposal to attack that city.

1-55 Sagara in the sura realm

Lovely from the back

(5) Sagara listens to Riagara's report about Atera's priestess. However, her mind wanders to the moment when she succeeded Manasvin as the king of the clan under unexplained circumstances. The nastikas were dissatisfied because someone weak as Sagara should not be king. They begged Huia to kill Sagara and become king herself, but Huia refused. Fearing retaliation from Huia if they were to harm Sagara, the nastikas declared that Sagara could hold the title, but they refuse to acknowledge her as the king.

1-55 Sagara near Rindhallow

Feeling petty

Sagara’s mind focuses when she hears Riagara calling her name, and she asks for the report to be repeated. Riagara informs her about Brilith Ruin, who has been the Priestess of Fire since a young age, and is a queen-like figure loved unconditionally by the city's citizens. Sagara feels irritated by Brilith's natural talent and accomplishments. She informs Riagara that Maruna will be joining them and orders her to organize everything for the attack, which Sagara will personally join so that she may meet this Priestess.

A born queen... how infuriating.

– Sagara about Brilith Ruin [6]

1-57 By any means

By any means necessary

(7) Sagara asks Kubera why Maruna is cooperating with his plan. Kubera admits he agreed to help Maruna find something once everything is over. Sagara implies that Kubera's plan is detrimental to the Garuda clan, so he must have lied to convince Maruna to aid him. She envies how easy it is for him to lie with such a stoic face and states that she does not care about the means they use to achieve their mutual goal.

I don't really care whether you lie or resort to dirty tricks. Because ultimately, we share the same objective. It doesn't matter what means we use.

– Sagara to Kubera [6]

Chapter 10: The Night it Rained Fire[]

1-66 Sagara

Prettier than Brilith

(3) Sagara infiltrates Atera after Maruna cracked the city's barrier enough for her to enter. She bumps into Kaz who apologizes and comments to his brother how she's prettier than the Priestess who, before before bumping into Sagara, he considered to be the prettiest woman in the planet. Amused, Sagara decides to spare the people in the area who she was previously contemplating of killing.

(4) Irritated by the huge crowd in between her and the temple, Sagara wonders if the boy is still around and contemplates massacring the people around her. Just then, the loud engine of Lorraine's car catches the her attention. As the car flies up ahead, Sagara recognizes the Staff of Agni and concludes that it must be heading to where Brilith is.

It's revealed by Riagara that Sagara's forces can't launch an offensive attack till Sagara secures Brilith and sends Maruna the go signal to break the city's barrier. Hura dismisses Sagara's plan, switches to his sura form, and flies towards the city until he is attacked by the city's turrets.

(5) Upon meeting Shess and Leny outside Kalibloom, Gandharva announces his disappointment to know that the Kinnaras have sided with Sagara. Shess maintains that he and the Kinnaras remain neutral. Gandharva is outraged and betrayed after being informed by Shess that Maruna has joined Sagara and was given the critical role of breaking Atera's barrier.

1-69 peek a boo

Peek-a-boo

(6) She jumps onto the car and proceeds to power up her transcendental Gaze in the Grave on her left palm, but one of the humans quickly boxes her in with Hoti Brahma, while the other human seals her transcendental with bhavati Asvins. Sagara easily breaks out of the box and playfully continues to chase the humans, who are escaping carrying the staff. When she loses them inside the temple, Sagara decides to forget about the staff and focus on Brilith.

Sagara goes to the barrier stone room from outside the building and finds Brilith maintaining the barrier. Thereby she knocks on the window to get Brilith's attention and greets her mockingly.

1-70 Sagara rages at Brilith

Take your hands off!

(7) Sagara sends the arranged signal, and Maruna launches an attack on the barrier, which Brilith barely manages to block. Sagara wickedly enjoys watching Brilith struggling to maintain the barrier and advises her to give up as it is just a waste of Brilith's vigor. She will even allow Brilth to live. She is further amused when Brilith endures another attack at the barrier. This time the barrier shows cracks all over it, but it does not break. Sagara notices that Brilith looks pale yet disregards any concern until Brilith starts spitting blood. Sagara then realizes there must be something wrong with the priestess and freaks out at the possibility of her dying. She screams at Brilith to get away from the barrier stone as Maruna strikes a new attack.

1-71 Sagara confronts Brilith

Face to face

(8) Brilith restores the barrier, though she seems to be at her limit. Sagara is shocked that the priestess is practically at death's door, as she had assumed based on Gandharva and Agni's promise that Brilith had a considerable amount of lifespan left. Maruna launches a fourth attack, and before it hits the barrier, a desperate Sagara take on partial surafication to break through the window and take Brilith away from the barrier stone. After the barrier breaks, the Ananta rakshasas and Hura shift to sura form and start wreaking havoc in the city.

1-71 Violet Rain

Purple rain

Sagara takes Brilith outside the temple and praises her irrational stubbornness to protect Atera. When Brilith asks what Sagara gains from attacking the city, Sagara replies she is searching for a human named Kubera to kill it, and the quickest way to achieve that is to get rid of the whole city. Sagara acknowledges that Brilith shows interest in finding this person for her, but since Brilith ultimately has no way to do so, she tells the priestess to enjoy the spectacle as she unleashes a rain of violet beams against the city.

Such an extent I'm going to just to save a lowly human like yourself. Consider yourself honored, phony-queen.

– Sagara to Brilith [7]
Just stay here and watch the fireworks. Look, I've been kind enough to bring you to the place with the best view.

– Sagara about to destroy Atera [7]

(9) Brilith implores Sagara to stop, offering to find the Kubera if she is given more time. Sagara shuts Brilith up, asking her not to do anything rash because Brilith does not possess the power to harm her. Moreover, Sagara points out that her allies are coming.

(10) (11) Kasak Rajof arrives to aid Atera, and stalls Riagara, Pingara, and Hura. Riagara realizes that Kasak is Taksaka's son and concludes that it is not wise for her clan to fight him, so she manages to convince Maruna to fight for them. After Maruna takes Kasak out of the city, Riagara and Pingara head to the Temple of Fire to support their king.

1-75 Brilith won't give up

Give me that!

(12) Sagara tells Brilith that now that Kasak is out of their way, her precious city will soon perish. To Sagara's surprise, Brilith suddenly attacks her with a god-level dagger, which Sagara stops effortlessly. Sagara reminds the priestess to stay put, or else she will hurt her. Brilith counters that Sagara is just bluffing as she has not harmed her already. An undaunted Brilith declares her intention to do something foolhardy.

(13) Sagara ponders if Brilith has lost her mind as she does not have enough lifespan left for a summoning. Despite that, Brilith casts Idha Etu Agni. Alarmed, Sagara believes that Brilith has committed suicide and worries about Agni's retaliation on her clan back in the Sura realm. However, after a tense moment, there is no sign of Agni. A relieved Sagara mocks Brilith for bluffing, but Brilith merely stares fearlessly at her, something Sagara cannot stand. Sagara yells at Brilith to stop.

1-77 Sagara loses her cool

Fatal Touch

(14) Sagara realizes that Brilith's gaze is getting under her skin. Suddenly, Riagara and Pingara arrive, and Sagara orders Riagara to completely pulverize the city starting with the temple as she wishes to see Brilith in utter despair.

Killing her would be inconvenient. I haven't forgotten. What I want is to see that impudent face of hers crumple up in utter despair.

– Sagara to Riagara [8]

Sagara cheers on Riagara and Pingara while they physically crush the temple. Unexpectedly, Brilith casts bhavati Agni on Sagara, which barely wounds her. Sagara's furor keeps growing, and when she yells at Brilith that her magic is useless, Brilith shuts her up with a second bhavati Agni that forces Sagara to shift to male form and regenerate with King of Toxic Mist. Back in female form, Sagara loses her temper and decides to kill Brilith. She no longer cares about Gandharva and Agni's promise, nor does she fear the gods' retaliation towards her clan as her clanmates do not deserve her sympathy. Only Vasuki, a coward that abandoned Ananta to save his own skin, makes her feel guilty, but he will be safe in Taksaka's nest anyway. Sagara uses Fatal Touch to rot Brilith alive as she desires to give the priestess a hideous death.

I'll kill you right here with my own hands. Of course, I'm not letting you die an easy death. Those defiant eyes that dared to glare at me... those hands that dared to attack me... that body that would not submit until the very end... I'll make them all rot alive and I'll personally watch you die a hideous death!!

– Sagara to Brilith [8]
1-78 Sagara and her rakshasas

We got this!

(15) Sagara witnesses how fire encircles Brilith, making her lose sight of the priestess, and she wonders if the summoning spell actually worked. [9]Soon after, the fire disappears, revealing Agni next to a completely healed Brilith. Sagara is incredulous and wonders how it is possible since Brilith did not have enough lifespan left, and the God of Death is the one with jurisdiction over lives. Agni admits Yama was hard to beat, and that he nearly ended up stuck in Hell. When Agni advises her to run away, Sagara calls Riagara and Pingara, who have their eyes closed following Sagara's warning to prevent Agni from using insight on them. Sagara tells the rakshasas that they have an exceptional opportunity to kill the god as his summoner barely has vigor left and almost no lifespan to spare for Agni to use transcendentals.

1-80 Male Sagara

Male Sagara

Out of the blue, Lorraine Rartia arrives to deliver the Staff of Agni to the god. [10] Realizing her plan will be ruined, Sagara commands Riagara and Pingara to get the staff first.

(16) The rakshasas fail, and Sagara orders retreat as victory is impossible. Agni then summons two fire snakes to chase them. When Maruna notices Agni has been summoned, he curses the snakes for messing up.

(17) Riagara shields Sagara and Pingara from a new fire snakes attack. Both rakshasas are outraged with Agni for assaulting them with a transcendental that he copied from Vasuki. Sagara dismisses Riagara's intention to stay behind to stall Agni and decides to do it herself. She admits she cannot beat Agni, but has a plan that might work because Agni pretends to be an honorable god. Sagara orders them to leave and find Clophe and Cloche. Sagara takes on her male form.

No, Riagara. You are nowhere near strong enough. You are unlikely to hold Agni for long, and in any case, your death will be unavoidable.

– Sagara to Riagara [11]
1-81 male-form Sagara

Let us fight

(18) Cloche and Clophe are in the woods outside Atera, slowly fleeting in human form. Clophe has difficulties to walk because his tail was burned by a fire snake. He urges Cloche to go with Sagara and help her escape as Sagara is no match for Agni. Suddenly, Hura appears and agrees to heal Clophe, but Hura threatens with killing both if they go with Sagara.

Agni appears, and Sagara tries to make him feel guilty straight away. Sagara declares he desires a one-on-one fight, although it will be unfair as Sagara is hopelessly weak in the Human realm. Sagara adds he is relieved to meet his end by Agni's hand in such a lovely scenery.

Agni questions if Sagara stayed behind to save the rakshasas' life. Sagara believes his tactic is working and decides to push a bit more by uttering that Agni does not care about the feelings of nastikas since he used fire snakes to attack Sagara. Agni apologizes in earnest since he forgot that Vasuki and Sagara were lovers. Sagara is a bit confused and wonders if Agni is truly an idiot after all.

1-81 Maruna grabs Sagara

Noooo

Sagara then tells Agni to be like the other gods and use any means to put him down. Agni replies that first, he wants to hear Sagara's reason for attacking the city. When Sagara is about to make up a fitting lie, Maruna grabs him and flies out of there. Astonished and frustrated by Maruna's sudden appearance, Sagara realizes that everything is going downhills and urges Maruna to close his eyes and fly as fast as he can. When Agni is about to catch up with Maruna, a wall of ice appears between them. Gandharva appears and tells Maruna to get out of there.

(20) Agni and Gandharva stare down each other for a bit until Agni breaks the silence by saying it was stupid of him to assume Gandharva would truthfully answer his question about the true motive behind the attack on Atera. Instead, since the Garuda rakshasa's speed is weighed down by Sagara, Agni will chase after him and use him to get the answers. Gandharva eventually manages to get Agni to back off.

Chapter 11: The Power of the Name[]

(1) When Brilith learns from Agni that the gods have very special names, she asks if it's problematic for a human to be named after a god. Agni responds that it isn't for some (in Atera alone, there are five humans named Agni), although some prickly gods may find it offensive. Brilith is puzzled since the sura that attacked her admitted that their objective was to kill a human named after a god, a human named Kubera.

1-85 nefarious Gandharva (detail)

Almighty king, Gandharva

(2) Sagara informs the Ananta rakshasas and Hura that they failed to kill the human named Kubera in Atera as god Kubera's power remains unchanged. Sagara apologizes for sabotaging the mission, and Riagara tries to comfort her by stating that everything is Maruna's fault since he failed to kill the Kubera in its initial location. [12]

Next, Hura wonders about Maruna, Shess, and Gandharva's whereabouts. Cloche answers that she has no idea about the other two, but Gandharva has submerged into the depths of the ocean. When Hura harshly criticizes Gandharva, Sagara tells them that he used to be a king deserving of her respect, but Menaka and Shakuntala ruined him. Sagara wonders if Gandharva is crazy enough to believe that his daughter still lives.

It would have been nice to have such luck on our side. Unfortunately, luck rarely favors the Sura.

– Sagara [13]

Chapter 12: Lies for You[]

(12) Sagara compliments her underlings for bringing back good information and states that if she had known this earlier they would have attacked “that city” first. Suddenly, Maruna spots her and asks what she is discussing. Sagara replies that it is none of his concern since Kubera and Gandharva have decided to leave him out because he would get in the way again.

Season 2[]

Season 2 Prologue[]

Chapter 13: Lost[]

Sagara does not appear in this chapter.

Chapter 14: Blood[]

2-9 sagara

Let get ready!

(1) Gandharva recalls Sagara assuring him that they can assault Kalibloom easily as it is a city with more fighters than magicians, but he believes she is mistaken.

(4) Sagara observes Rindhallow and promises to obliterate it in retaliation for the many Ananta clan suras that had lost their lives in there.

Riagara informs Sagara that Cloche told Maruna about the plan to assault Kalibloom [14], and she volunteers to intercept him before he reaches that city. Sagara shrugs it off, stating that Maruna was kept out for his own good per Gandharva's request anyway.[15] She orders Riagara to make further preparations.

2-23 no different from me

Not better than me

(7) Sagara informs Gandharva that his role consists of infiltrating Kalibloom to break the chaos barrier by eliminating the Priestess of Chaos. Under this condition, he can return to the Sura realm to search for Shakuntala.

Sagara says that Gandharva can pretend to be above her, but the truth is that both are selfish kings willing to shed the blood of many to accomplish their objective.

You can pretend to be superior all you like, but in the end, you're no different to me.

– Sagara to Gandharva [16]

Chapter 15: The Weapon of a God[]

(1) Sagara and her forces assemble outside Kalibloom. She is irritated because of Gandharva's delay in breaking the chaos barrier which disrupts offensive transcendentals. Consequently, it is necessary to eliminate it if they are to break the Earth barrier and assault the city.

Riagara suggests seeking out Maruna's help, but Sagara dismisses it as he cannot accomplish anything as long as the barrier stands. All they can do is wait.

Chapter 16: Caution[]

Sagara does not appear in this chapter.

Chapter 17: Reflection[]

(5) Sagara is tired of waiting for Gandharva to complete his mission. To calm her down, Riagara suggests that perhaps he is having difficulties because the Priestess of Chaos is stronger than they expected. Nevertheless, even in such a case, he should be powerful enough to kill her, so Sagara speculates that he must be waiting for the right moment.

2-31 will take a risk at the Temple of Chaos

Sagara wanna have fun

Sagara also recognizes that the moment Gandharva reveals himself, the humans will band together against him, which would be problematic in his current weakened state. Regardless, Riagara feels that his delay is unreasonable, hence she brings up the possibility of Gandharva quitting on them. Sagara rejects her theory because it would mean for him to give up on Shakuntala, something he is incapable of doing.

Riagara is aware that they have their hands tied regarding this matter, yet it does not mean they cannot do anything in the meantime. Thus she shares that she recently learned that the Temple of Chaos is outside the Earth barrier, though the turrets of the Earth barrier remain active and in range. During the month of chaos, the temple's security system lessens to allow entry to the public for the Test of the Sword. Riagara states that if Sagara wishes, Riagara and Pingara could enter the temple in human form to investigate.

Sagara finds this amusing and decides to go herself.

Chapter 18: The Test of the Sword[]

2-38 not a supervisor

Bow down to me, peasant

(5) Sagara waits in the room of the Temple of Chaos where the Sword of Return is kept until a young girl enters. (6) When Sagara stands on the sword, Leez confuses her with a supervisor of the Test of the Sword. Suddenly, Sagara notices that Leez is wearing the Golden Knight and is pleased by this unexpected luck. She asks Leez to give the bracelet to her, but Leez does not know how to take it off. A smiling Sagara tells Leez that this can be easily solved by Leez's death and hastily rushes towards her. Leez seizes Sagara by the wrist.

Since Sagara is unable to use offensive transcendentals under the chaos barrier, she is struggling to kill Leez. She notices that the bracelet turns off, meaning that Leez has run out of vigor. Before delivering the last blow, Sagara states that she has nothing personal against Leez. In reaction, Leez only stares at her with determination, which triggers Sagara to attack Leez.

(7) The bracelet suddenly turns black, and the transcendental Gravitational Field pulls the people in the temple to the ground. Sagara finds this odd since said transcendental is not part of the skill set of the bracelet. Next, the bracelet turns gold, and Sagara is surprised by how quickly Leez recovers her vigor.

2-40 gravely injured but still alive II

Finally down

The fight resumes and in the middle of it, Sagara stops Leez from drawing the sword by snatching her by the hair. She taunts Leez for being ugly, and Leez grabs Sagara's pigtails in return. Sagara is disgusted that such an unpleasant human refuses to let go of her. Tired of the insults, Leez pierces through Sagara's belly with a kick. Shocked by the amount of damage she has received, Sagara shifts to male form and regenerates with King of Toxic Mist.

Sagara effortlessly overpowers Leez, though she fails to kill Leez in one hit. She gets ready to wrap this up but is stopped by god Kubera’s sudden arrival.

Chapter 19: Rift[]

2-41 infuriated

Furious

(1) Sagara shifts back to female form and asks Kubera about the reason for his presence. He remains silent and takes Leez into his arms. Subsequently, Sagara speculates that he came to retrieve the bracelet, and as the owner, he can take it off without killing the girl.

Sagara suggests Kubera should help them destroy the chaos barrier since he is there and things are not going as planned. However, Kubera tells her to abandon this war and return to the Sura realm. For other contenders, this is a matter of survival, but not for her. She should have stayed in the Sura realm. A disturbed Sagara inquires if it is a joke, but he means it. Screaming, Sagara reminds him that she crossed over because he called her. [17]

She recalls the last time she saw Ananta alive, and states that her reason is more significant than mere survival.

2-41 Kubera with Leez and the sword

Come with me

Sagara does not understand his sudden change of heart when she is helping him to win or why he is so passive. Kubera says that he chose the wrong means and repeats she must return to the Sura realm, but Sagara refuses. He claims his proposal comes out of compassion towards her, and if she insists on staying, he will force her to return.

Sagara finds his threat absurd since he is too weak to overcome her regeneration. For a moment, she loses sight of Kubera, and he draws the Sword of Return. Sagara calls Kubera a lunatic for losing his regenerative power by becoming the owner of the sword. Kubera says it does not matter since he will disappear soon. He then invites Sagara to go elsewhere for them to fight.

2-42 quite naked

Fully naked

(2) Sagara is back in male form and using King of Toxic Mist. He tries to kill a young man that suddenly appears from outside, but Kubera prevents it by throwing Ran off the building.

Sagara brags that in his current state, the sword's attacks will pass through his body. Kubera points out he can chop Sagara into pieces once Sagara uses force to attack him. Triggered, Sagara rapidly moves in front of the god and puts his hand on Leez's head. The nastika argues that in that case, he will crush the human apart. Kubera swings the sword at Sagara, who hastily dodges it. Seeing that Kubera does not hesitate, Sagara decides to end their dispute and focus on what she originally came to do.

2-42 unexpected interruption

Unexpected enemy

When Sagara is about to leave, a child appears holding a sword in his right hand.(3) Yuta morphs his sword into a battle-ax and attacks Sagara, but the weapon passes right through him. Sagara recognizes that his sword is a God-level item and believes Yuta is a half whose arrival Kubera was expecting. He then looks around for Kubera, but the god is gone.

Sagara is surprised that Yuta can speak sura speech, yet he believes himself to have the advantage. Yuta stares at Sagara with red eyes, and King of Toxic Mist wears off. Sagara recognizes Yuta's eyes as the same as those of the Taraka clan and once he realizes Yuta's identity, he tries to flee. Yuta's sword takes the shape of a chain, and he wraps it around Sagara's right leg. Sagara thinks it was foolish of Yuta not to aim for his neck. He cuts off his leg and disappears.

(4) Sagara takes a stroll in the temple's surroundings, hoping to find the Priestess of Chaos among the crowd. Meanwhile, he thinks about the impact Yuta might have on the plan to assault Kalibloom. Right now, Riagara can physically beat Yuta, but that will change if he develops.

2-46 backup

Nice catch

(5) Sagara overhears a temple staff member saying that he saw Teo heading out of the Temple of Chaos. Then Sagara notices that Yuta has been following him. As Yuta has not attacked him, Sagara conjectures it must be because Yuta is disguising himself as a half and cannot blow his cover. Sagara blends into the crowd hoping to lose Yuta. Seeing that Yuta is chasing after him, Sagara blends into a bigger crowd.

(6) Fearing that Sagara will get away, Yuta jumps and throws his chain at him, but Riagara steps into the way and catches it.[18] Sagara smirks at Yuta and leaves. Later, Maruna (who came to the city with Riagara) takes Sagara back to the other Ananta suras.

2-50 wrathful nastika

Making a promise

(10) Sagara orders the return of all her forces to their base in Rindhallow. She wants to confront Kubera about their incident in the Temple of Chaos. It is pointless for them to assault Kalibloom if Kubera dies soon. Sagara believes something is holding him back since he still lives despite speaking as if his death is near.[19]

Riagara thinks that if Sagara's reasoning is correct, Kubera might not cooperate with them anymore. Sagara swears that if he abandons Ananta again, she will kill Kubera.

On their way, Riagara is to inform Sagara of what the half that Riagara kidnapped from Kalibloom revealed about Gandharva. [20]

It that case, it would mean he abandons Ananta for the second time. And if so, I will rip him apart with my own hands.

– Sagara about god Kubera [21]

Chapter 20: Grudge[]

2-41 it was a great loss

Don't go

(1) In narration, Sagara states that since the beginning of the universe, Ananta possessed the strongest name and an immeasurable sura form. Despite this, he lacked the ambition to use his power. He was also a fool that allowed others to exploit and deceive him, even the god who killed him.

In a flashback to the Sura realm, Sagara implores Ananta to reject the gods' requesting his presence before them in exchange for allowing the rest of the Ananta clan to live. It does not matter if the rest of them perish, but he must live. Besides, she is certain that he is lying and will not keep his word. Ananta dismisses her plea because he trusts Kubera and considers him a friend. Sagara repeatedly yells at him to come back as he leaves.

2-51 Bloody Line

Cut the nonsense

In the present day, Pingara in sura form transports Sagara, Hura, and the other Ananta rakshasas to Rindhallow. Immediately after their arrival, Sagara confronts Kubera asking him about the Sword of Return. Kubera affirms he does not have the sword because he is not the owner. Thinking that Kubera is playing mind games again, Sagara chops off Kubera's left arm with Bloody Line and is surprised when his arm regenerates.

After some consideration, Sagara orders her forces to surround all Kalibloom's borders. No human is allowed to leave the city. If they lack the numbers, Riagara is to ask the Yaksha and Garuda clans for aid. Sagara is confident that Riagara can once again persuade Maruna, and with a smile, she tells Riagara that she is her most competent follower. Riagara agrees to carry out this task and asks if she should involve the Gandharva clan too, but Sagara thinks it is better to leave them out.

No. He's not your friend. Ananta, come back. Come back!!! DON'T GO, YOU IDIOT!!!! Come back... please...

– A weeping Sagara to Ananta [22]

2-52 sitting sura squad

Battle meeting

(2) Back in the forest outside Kalibloom. Sagara and the rest of the rakshasas (except for Riagara who went to talk with Maruna) have a meeting to discuss the plan to assault the city. Sagara predicts that although Gandharva may feel conflicted about killing the Priestess of Chaos, he will eventually find a way to break the Chaos barrier since he cannot abandon Shakuntala. However, after what Sagara witnessed in the Temple of Chaos, they cannot wait for him anymore. They need to find an alternative way to break the barrier.

Hura questions if the incident between Sagara and Kubera truly happened. If so, it is dangerous and foolish for them to keep cooperating with him. Sagara urges everyone to ease their doubts. Despite the incident, after talking with Kubera, it was clear to Sagara that he is on her side and she even felt pity for "the girl"

It doesn't make sense, does it? That's why I laughed too, after I talked to him. Because I was surprised and bemused. And I guess on one hand... I felt pity for her.

– Sagara speaking of Kubera[23]
2-55 Shadow Escape

The spy of Sagara's team

(4) Sagara is informed that Gandharva and a group of thirty or forty fighters are wandering around the forest. Sagara asks if Yuta is among them, but Cloche did not see anyone with Yuta's description. Upon Cloche's question, if they should approach the humans now or wait for Riagara's return, Sagara decides to wait and see how things unfold.

(5) Pingara returns from spying on the humans. He reports that Teo is among the group, and they are searching for her daughter, who happens to be the half that Riagara kidnapped from Kalibloom.[18] The Chaos barrier would disappear if its Priestess were to step outside of it, and Cloche believes this is what Gandharva is intending to do.

After the attack on Atera, Sagara is well aware that the Priestesses will never choose her own life over the safety of the city they must protect. Because of this, she finds it amusing that Gandharva must think of this as a noble act towards Teo, despite the many humans that will die. This proves he is no different from Sagara and the rest.

2-55 the Anantas vs the gods

The Ananta clan vs the gods

In a flashback to the Sura realm when the Ananta clan fought against the gods in D500, a messenger arrives to inform Manasvin and Sagara that no more reinforcements will be coming since all the clans are preoccupied. The Asura clan has its hands full fighting the Yaksha and Garuda clans, and the Kinnara clan is dealing with internal trouble over the Power of the Name. Taksaka has come as a representative of the Vritra clan, but he does not seem to be doing anything. Rescuing Ananta would be costly if not impossible under these circumstances.

When Sagara asks why the Gandharva clan refused assistance, the messenger speaks of their visit to the Gandharva clan stronghold on Carte. Gandharva seemed inclined to come and join the fight until his wife, Menaka, forbid him from doing so in fear that this could turn the attention of the gods towards them. Gandharva agreed with Menaka and turned down the messenger, claiming that he is a king who loves peace and the clan would fight only to protect Menaka.

2-55 Sagara's honesty

Lovely

Hearing this angers Sagara, surely even Gandharva must realize the implications of the loss of Ananta? She rages that Menaka ruined Gandharva, but Manasvin interrupts her, turning her attention to more practical matters.

When Sagara asks how Manasvin can stay so calm, he states that he is actually very angry. He dislikes hypocrites who pride themselves on goodness but only care about their immediate surroundings. Though being selfish is natural, he cannot stand those who feel like this makes them virtuous. He then states that Sagara's honesty makes her lovely in his eyes.

Since Vasuki had already left to protect Ananta, the course of action the Ananta clan must take depends on Manasvin. He declares that it is time to go protect Ananta or at the very least to shred apart the beings responsible for his death. A huge battle is being waged in the distance.

2-55 we will kill the priest

Private chat

In the present time, Sagara takes Cloche aside to have a private conversation. After remembering how Gandharva refused to aid Ananta, Sagara instructs the rakshasa to stand by at the Chaos barrier and swiftly kill Teo once she steps out of it. Cloche is surprised that they are disregarding Gandharva's wish, and Sagara explains they are under no obligation to be considerate towards him. Furthermore, if Teo were to return inside the barrier, the plan would be ruined.

Sagara plans to trigger Gandharva into attacking Kalibloom on his own by bringing up Shakuntala's death. Cloche is concerned about their security because they witnessed how terrifying Gandharva was during the Taraka clan attack on his clan in N5.[24] Sagara dismisses her worries stating that they merely need to get out of his way. Plus, Gandharva's strength is limited in the human realm and many of his transcendentals are still sealed by Taraka. If Taraka were to die, the seal would be undone, but this has not happened yet since Sagara is still incapable of using her own sealed transcendentals.[25]

2-56 waiting on the Chaos barrier

Not the avengers

(6) The night has fallen in Kalibloom. Pingara reports that the other humans have gone outside the barrier. Gandharva is trying to persuade Teo to go as well, but Teo is reluctant.

Hura proposes to use Elwin as bait to lure Teo outside the barrier. Cloche thinks the half might have been already eaten by the Upanis and carelessly implies that Shakuntala was eaten too.

After confirming there are no Gandharva clan suras in the zone, Sagara decides to modify the plan a little bit. She tasks Cloche and Clophe with retrieving Kubera's God-level items from the Temple of Earth.[26] Pingara and Hura will kill the humans that have left the barrier, and after that, they will join her as she confronts Teo.

2-56 no stereotyping

Crashing the search party

Later, Sagara, guarded by Pingara and Hura, appears in front of Teo, Gandharva, and another fighter. Sensing danger, Teo sends Parr to search for the rest of their party in order to return to the city. Teo plans to go back after defeating the enemies. Sagara tells Teo she is delusional if she truly believes that.

In sura speech, Gandharva asks Sagara why she is there since the task of breaking the Chaos barrier belongs to him. Sagara is impressed by how far he goes to keep up his cover. Also in sura speech, Sagara answers that he wasted too much time and ultimately accomplished nothing. Hence, they came to kill the priestess themselves. Gandharva insists that they only need to take Teo away from the barrier, yet he cannot come up with a convincing enough reason for Sagara to spare Teo's life.

In an attempt to discredit Gandharva, Sagara readies to reveal his identity to Teo. Though to the surprise of both nastikas, Teo is already fully aware, not only of Gandharva's identity, but also about the complicated situation which he finds himself in. Teo had known since she saw Gandharva's sura form in the Lake of Reflection, but she wanted to understand the situation before acting. She tells Gandharva that he must choose a side now, and she has no intention of being the sole survivor of a destroyed city. She casts Hoti Kubera and prepares to fight.

2-57 ganging up

3 vs 1

(7) Angrily, Sagara scolds Hura for allowing Parr to run away. She turns her back on Teo while sending Hura after the half, and Teo seizes the chance to aim her sword at Sagara's neck. But Pingara jumps in to block the blade with his body. Smirking, Sagara leans on a tree to observe the ongoing fight.

Sagara notices that Teo's movements with the sword are faster than should be possible for a human. On top of that, her sword might be a God-level item Sagara never heard about. Sagara then orders Pingara to use his non-offensive transcendentals, but Teo effortlessly overcomes them. The nastika is surprised by Teo's fighting experience and by the fact that Teo can use Chaos silent magic when said magic should have disappeared alongside Kali.

2-57 too late

Teo dies

Pingara states that Teo is too strong for him to defeat without reinforcements or without taking sura form. Suddenly, Riagara arrives and sends Teo flying with a kick. Riagara apologizes for her lateness and states that Cloche told her about the new plan. Sagara orders Riagara to quickly eliminate the priestess before Teo annoys her even more.

Teo dodges Riagara and pierces the rakshasa's right arm. Angered, Riagara knocks Teo down to the ground, causing her to drop her sword. Teo tries to grasp the sword, but Pingara steps on her arm and throws away the sword with his tail. Teo is at their mercy. Suddenly Gandharva screams for them to stop and they temporarily pause. Gandharva has finally made up his mind and runs toward them to save Teo. Undisturbed, Sagara hastily stabs the priestess in the neck with Teo's own sword and she reprimands the rakshasas for having listened to Gandharva's command.

Teo's blood stains the ground, and Gandharva's scream of pain resounds through the forest.

Chapter 21: Frozen Tears[]

2-58 Sagara with Teo's sword

Putting salt on the wound

(1) Sagara tells Gandharva that it is futile to try to heal Teo as he holds her corpse in his arms and taunts him for being slow in deciding to save her. She continues to beat him down by reminding him that Menaka also died because of his incredible indecisiveness.

Sagara does not grasp why he cries over one dead human when he has already slaughtered thousands of them. To her, his tears convey nothing.

She then asks Gandharva what he plans to do now since he chose to side with the now-deceased Teo. Sagara wonders if he considers returning to Kubera's side. Gandharva confirms it, and Sagara is not surprised that he retracts his decision because he cannot let Shakuntala go. Sagara questions if Gandharva even cares as much about Shakuntala as he would like to believe if he did not even remember what Sagara told him about her right after her arrival.[27]

Just after I came through the gate, remember? I told you exactly what had happened to your daughter. I wasn't lying, Gandharva. It was only that you didn’t believe me. [25]
2-060 What in the world

Shocked

(3) Sagara, Riagara, and Pingara move away from Gandharva's position. A fierce wind goes through the forest, and Sagara rejoices over her triumph of easily manipulating Gandharva. Pingara asks if they are far enough from Gandharva should he come after them. Sagara dismisses this idea because when Gandharva goes on a rampage, he is not in a state to identify his targets. All they need to do is stay out of his way.

Pingara is not convinced since he perceives there is something odd going on. He asks if Gandharva truly cannot take sura form, and Sagara resolutely denies it, but she is left open-mouthed when unexpectedly Gandharva does just that. She is confused about how it is even possible.

2-067 Sagara observing Frozen Tear

Observing the fight

(5) Gandharva physically breaks the Earth barrier and immediately tries to flood Kalibloom. Agni arrives to evaporate all the water before that happens and re-establishes the barrier. (10) Riagara is impressed by Agni's strength, but Sagara thinks that Gandharva should have been able to prevent it. She theorizes that Gandharva has suffered permanent damage due to his forbidden transformation.

They see blue beams in the distance, and Sagara ponders why Gandharva can now use his unique transcendental Frozen Tear. To her knowledge, that is one of the skills sealed by Taraka.

2-67 Sagara's crew

Clever Hura

Sagara warns Riagara that they should avoid getting hit by that attack because apart from the physical damage, you also get caught in a mental transcendental. However, this type of attack is useless against a fifth-zen god since they are immune. For Gandharva to attack Agni with this power, it must mean that he is completely insane or is rational but with a death wish.

Hura has brought Parr to Sagara, but Sagara releases the half since she no longer represents a threat to Cloche and Clophe's infiltration of the city. Still, Hura feels that it is an unexpected decision and suspects that Sagara might have an ulterior motive. Sagara smirks and praises Hura's intelligence. Sagara let Parr go so that she could identify Gandharva as the source of the trouble to the humans later.[28]

Chapter 22: The One Standing Before Me[]

2-78 Clophe and Cloche in the Earth Temple

A present for Sagara

(8) Sagara, alongside Riagara and Pingara, heads to the Temple of Earth right after Agni departs from the city, leaving it without a barrier.[28] Hura heads to Gandharva and Maruna's location.[29]

Sagara and the rest are waiting for Cloche and Clophe inside the temple. Sagara gets impatient because the siblings are taking long to retrieve Kubera's God-level items despite the security system being off.[30] Soon, Cloche and Clophe arrive and present to Sagara a little box containing the items.

2-78 Sagara in the Earth Temple

Has an idea

Sagara orders that they withdraw since they have accomplished their objective of assaulting Kalibloom. However, Kasak Rajof suddenly arrives in the city. Sagara inquires Riagara if Maruna might come to help them. Riagara answers that Maruna is probably fighting outside the city judging from the fact that the sky was red over there.

Riagara proposes that Sagara should escape while they stall Kasak, but Sagara refuses because she has a better idea that will allow them to flee.

(9) All of them are sneaking out of the temple in human form while avoiding being spotted by Kasak. Sagara is speaking of how it is better not to engage in avoidable fights, when they notice that a third-stage Yuta awaits them.[31]

2-79 deadly Yuta

Beheaded snakes

Yuta stares at them with his Taraka clan eyes and declares that this time Sagara will not escape.[32] Riagara and Clophe promptly try to attack Yuta, but they are too slow for him. Yuta beheads them with his tail without killing them because he wants to eat them alive later. Cloche is aghast since she could not see anything.

Pingara hides to attempt a sneak attack, but to his horror, Yuta finds him easily. Yuta wraps his scarf around Pingara and crushes his bones with it. Since Pingara regenerates fast, Yuta partially eats him, though not so much as to kill him.

2-079 Sagara holding Riagara

Holding Riagara

Yuta notices that Cloche is useless without her transcendentals, so he does not bother with her. He then confronts Sagara about how she is deceiving his brother into cooperating with them since Maruna has no reason to attack human cities nor to treat Yuta as he recently did. Sagara deduces that the reason behind the red sky is that Maruna was fighting with Yuta. She takes this as an opportunity for them to get out of there alive. Sagara explains that Maruna is willingly helping them for the sake of the Garuda clan, and if Yuta kills them there, it will be detrimental to the Garudas. Yuta demands a further explanation, but Kasak appears behind him and attacks him.

Cautiously observing the two of them take it out from a distance, Cloche suggests taking the opportunity to flee. Sagara in her male form is cradling Riagara in his lap with a frown.

(10) Sagara and her allies reassemble outside Kalibloom. Hura heals the injured rakshasas and is curious about what happened to them. Since Sagara and the rest look depressed and unwilling to talk, Cloche glances at Maruna before lying that they were ambushed by the Half-dragon. She then asks Maruna what he was up to because they saw the sky red. Maruna claims the humans provoked him into a fight.[26]

Sagara finally speaks, stating that Maruna was useless to them and accusing him of merely watching during Gandharva and Agni's fight, not like he could have done anything anyway. Maruna asks if she knows the whereabouts of Gandharva, who disappeared without a trace.[29] Sagara denies it and insults the nastika while wondering where he must be.

When Maruna asks for the reason behind Gandharva's transformation, Sagara evasively answers that if she knew how it was was possible, she would have done so herself. Maruna emphasizes he meant "why" not "how", and Sagara shrugs it off, stating she does not understand the mind of pacifists.

2-080 Thinking about Ananta

Thinking about Ananta

Then Sagara encourages the rakshasas to cheer up because, after retrieving Kubera's God-level items, there is only one more target before accomplishing their end goal.

To herself, Sagara thinks that she is indifferent to the amount of blood spilled over their path to ensure that Ananta has the last laugh.

Look forward to it, Ananta. I don't care how much more blood is spilt over our path. I will make sure the last laugh is yours.

Chapter 24: Taboo[]

2-95 Sagara

Looking good

(7) In their base near Rindhallow, Sagara delivers the items to god Kubera. She admires how good he looks wearing the armor, which reminds her of the times when he used to wipe out masses of Rakshasas.

Sagara asserts that now that they have the items, they no longer need to attack Eloth and can concentrate on assaulting Rindhallow. Once they are victorious, Kubera will bring back Ananta, and both Sagara and Kubera's atonement will end. With Ananta's return, everything will be complete.

Sagara warns Kubera that he will be a bastard if he backs out now.

Once we destroy Rindhallow and call him back, all of this will be at an end. Your atonement, and mine.

Chapter 27: Last Resort[]

2-107 Kubera and Sagara

Gate to the Sura realm

(1) Sagara observes how Kubera works on opening a gate to the Sura realm for Samphati to cross over. She comments that the assault on Rindhallow is a guaranteed triumph as they will be unstoppable. Kubera put this into question since Samphati is a 5th stage rakshasa from the Garuda clan, the natural enemy of the Ananta clan, and this might be problematic for them since Sagara cannot defeat her. Sagara counters that Samphati is someone who avoids unnecessary killings and has agreed to the terms of cooperation. Kubera believes that Sagara is naive for trusting her enemy. However, Sagara is unconcerned since she possesses what Samphati desires, leaving her no choice but to comply. The nastika compares this situation with how Kubera manipulated Gandharva around.

(3) Kubera has completed the gate and Sagara, alongside the rest, watches Samphati crossing over to the Human realm.

Chapter 28: Emergency[]

2-115 Samphati bows to Sagara

Recognizing greatness

(3) Cloche expresses surprise that despite her strength and clan, Samphati is respectful towards Sagara. She even bowed to Sagara when she first greeted her. Cloche adds that Samphati is out doing a task that Sagara gave her, which entails killing Yuta.

Chapter 29: Isle of Myths[]

Sagara does not appear in this chapter.

Chapter 30: Falling Petals[]

(1) Samphati reports to Sagara that she found Yuta but did not kill him. She took into consideration that he must be assassinated discretely because of who his father is, and he is not much of a threat in his 3rd stage. Another factor is that Samphati wants to deny him a quick death. Sagara states that she will not meddle in Samphati's vendetta as long as Samphati ensures that he does not get into their way again.

Smirking, Samphati claims that she has found a way to keep Yuta in one place.

2-128 yes-men

Team meeting

(2) Sagara gathers her group to discuss the battle plan. Rindhallow itself is not much of a threat for them, but others may get in the way, the worst being Agni. Sagara asks if there is a volunteer to face the god and is quite surprised that not even Samphati is willing to. Though Samphati is confident she could defeat the god, she is too young to be immune to Agni's insight and she does not wish to risk Agni learning about internal matters of the Garuda clan.

2-128 watch this

Bang bang

As the only one immune to insight, Sagara declares she will be the one to fight Agni. Cloche and Riagara freak out. Riagara tries to talk Sagara out of it by suggesting that she will find a way to persuade Shess since insight does not work on him either. Additionally, he can temporarily access his 5th stage powers to stall the god.

Sagara appreciates the concern but thinks that talking to Shess it is pointless. Moreover, it might be difficult for Agni to defend Rindhallow since his priority is his summoner in Atera. She next performs a demonstration of one of her now restored transcendentals by shooting a big purple blast against a mountain. She explains that somehow Taraka died, allowing Sagara to regain some useful skills which she can use to stall Agni. Nevertheless, the same would be true for Gandharva, who is a wild card.

Chapter 31: Your Justice and Mine[]

2-136 decreasing power

Leave me alone, Sagara

(2) Sagara goes to see Kubera to inquire about the location of the remaining humans named "Kubera." The god is reluctant to check since it requires a considerable amount of vigor, and his condition is unwell. Sagara insists that he should at least confirm there is a Kubera in Rindhallow since she does not want to waste time on a pointless attack. Kubera will inform her under the condition that she will not bother him anymore until the attack is over. Sagara agrees, and the god confirms there is a Kubera in the center of the city.

Sagara states that they will proceed with the plan, and he should initiate Ananta's summoning right after the human dies. When she is leaving, Kubera calls her name and warns her not to die. She is confident that she will not.

(16) Riagara, Pingara, Cloche, Clophe, and Hura are holding a meeting and worrying whether they can all survive the upcoming battle. Samphati and Maruna fly in and comfort them that the Anantas will not be taking part in the attack. They are to protect Kubera in the back, and only non-Anantas will fight. This excludes Sagara, who will be required to face Agni as she is the only one resistant to his insight.

The rakshasas insist on accompanying Sagara but Samphati reminds them about how they would be useless with their earth attribute nullified near Aeroplateau, a city that has overlapped barriers with Rindhallow.[35] The rakshasas grudgingly accept and Samphati commands Maruna to come with her. Before leaving, Maruna reminds Hura that he is coming too, picks him up, and flies off.

2-150 sagara vs taraka

Against the Taraka clan

Samphati and Maruna land before Sagara. She asks how her rakshasas took the news and Maruna tells her how reluctant they were to accept. Hura points out that Sagara seems very relaxed considering the danger she is to face, but Sagara feels certain in her transcendentals, especially since she has reclaimed those that she got sealed by Taraka when she helped the Gandharva clan.

Hura states that even with Agni out of the way, Yuta, Kasak Rajof, and Gandharva still remain unknown variables. Samphati explains that Hura is to follow orders and work as a distraction. Samphati will deal with everyone except for Agni. At that instant, she takes on sura form to initiate the attack.

It was best that I didn't go and tell them myself. Had I gone, those guys would've clung to the hem of my coat.

– Sagara about her children [36]
2-151 catch

Entrapped

(19) Sagara creates and illusion of Leez Haias, standing on the edge of a cliff, taking off her Hide of Bondage and jumping off. Yuta appears to seize Leez in the middle of the fall and utters that she should not commit suicide despite how terrible she might feel. At that moment, Leez embraces him tightly inducing Yuta into a mental transcendental.

Maruna is flying around in sura form, kept hidden by Hura, who is riding on his back, and drawing the fire of the city turrets, which he successfully evades. Meanwhile, Samphati attacks the city from space.

(20) Sagara is waiting for Agni in the only mountain not hit by Samphati. She is sitting on a rock, holding a black feather in her right hand and with Yuta under her feet.

Agni appears, searching for Yuta, but Sagara is unwilling to return him. She claims she wanted to kill Yuta, though she learned of a more pleasant way to deal with him, and with the cooperation of someone, soon, a masterpiece will be created.

2-153 hostage situation

Her toy

Without patience for hearing her ploy, Agni brings out his Sword of Hellfire and turns dark. He attacks Sagara with an explosive transcendental that unleashes a storm of black smoke, although he stops before hitting her.

Sagara –hugging Yuta by the neck– expresses surprise about this skill since it is unknown to her, and notes that Agni cannot bring himself to blast away Yuta alongside her. She believes the reason is because the Taraka clan sided with the gods when Ananta died, and so, Agni must protect their prince in order to continue using them.

(20) Agni points out that since Sagara has not shifted to her slightly stronger male form to fight him, it must be because the transcendental she is using on Yuta would be undone. Sagara counters that this time is different from Atera,[37] and for now, her female form is enough to deal with him.

She uses a skill to materialize Urvasi, a dead nastika from the Gandharva clan, to hold off Agni while she finishes her masterpiece. Urvasi rushes towards the god with his ice sword in hand. They clash, creating a strong shock wave around them.

2-156 giggling sagara

Take that "L", Agni

(22) Sagara has completed her masterpiece when she notices that a pillar of light has appeared on the horizon. She ponders what might have happened in the cities because Agni also suddenly became weak, allowing Urvasi to encase him in a wall of ice. Sagara concludes that something must have happened to his summoner and that a "Kubera" has died.[38] [39] This last event causes Sagara to burst out laughing since they have fulfilled their objective without directly engaging with the humans at all. She then taunts Agni for protecting the humans and getting betrayed in return.

Sagara reveals to Agni that they have gathered enough names to initiate Ananta's summoning and she wishes for him to witness it.

Also, despite accomplishing their immediate goal, Sagara still desires to obliterate Rindhallow, and addressing Yuta as "Jatayu," she commands to annihilate of the humans once the barriers break. However, Sagara is surprised when she realizes that Samphati has stopped attacking the cities.[40]

(25) Sagara notices the turrets have stopped firing too, which means that Maruna has left. Since she cannot break the barriers without the Garudas, she abandons her plan of destroying the cities and instead chooses to focus on Ananta's resurrection.

Agni tries to reason with her, arguing that when a Nastika dies, it is the end for them, but Sagara dismisses this as a lie since she has learned there is an afterlife for them. They go to a place isolated from other beings, and gods have called it "annihilation" to prevent the suras from attempting resurrections. Seeing Agni's shocked face, Sagara challenges him to figure out which of his fellow 5th-zen gods has betrayed their trust by disclosing this information.

2-159 name without a soul

Resurrected Ananta

Agni insists it is the same as annihilation because, in that place, a Nastika's soul is separated from their name and ripped apart. Only their name remains. If Sagara somehow manages to resurrect Ananta, she would unleash upon the universe a power without self-awareness, causing its destruction.

Sagara has no interest in listening to someone who celebrated Ananta's death and who would lie to prevent his return. Besides, if Agni is telling the truth, she is confident that Ananta will remember her and his former life. Agni calls her out for her naivety, which angers Sagara, and as a result, Urvasi stabs the god in the neck with his ice sword, making him pass out.

2-159 sura form yuta

Yuta vs Chandra

Suddenly, another god appears and attacks Sagara with a dark-mist transcendental that easily dissolves Urvasi. Yuta shifts to sura form and protects Sagara by putting her inside his mouth. Sagara is astonished to see Chandra but she is not worried since he is useless without transcendentals. She says her farewell to him, and Yuta cancels Chandra's skills. At the last minute, Kasak appears and grabs Yuta before he can smash Chandra to death.

Yuta teleports behind Kasak and hits him with his tail. The speed at which Yuta moved makes Sagara feel sick and she does not know what his skill was. She then decides to flee since the fight has gotten complicated and became too dangerous for her. Yuta flies off, and no one follows them.

He will... definitely recognize me. He will regain his memories from his former life, and return to being our caring, devoted leader once again.

– Sagara about the resurrected Ananta [41]

(29) Yuta has taken Sagara to a passage that leads to the Water Channel near Rindhallow, where Ananta's summoning is taking place. She commands Yuta, now in human form, to guard the passage and eat anyone who tries to enter. She then goes inside.

Chapter 32: Loser[]

(5) God Kubera stands at the center of the bottom of an ice mountain surrounded by suras of the Ananta clan.

2-169 could it be the Taraka guy

Everything is under control

Sagara notices that the pillar of light has vanished, accompanied by the disappearance of the golden light around the god, even though it is still night. She worries he might be too weak to continue performing the summoning. To confirm if there is a problem, she urges him to take off his helmet to see if his hair color has changed too.

Cloche suggests that perhaps Samphati and Sagara's mental transcendental is no longer working on Yuta because the Garuda might have released his mind from her control. Therefore, he might be canceling Kubera's powers. Riagara adds that Sagara should not put so much trust in the Garuda. Unconcerned, Sagara claims that her mental transcendental is still working, and Samphati has no reason to turn against them because she has yet to gain something from their alliance.

2-169 it's time to rumble

Enemy from behind

Sagara gets upset with Kubera as he has not removed his helmet. Suddenly, a girl with the Sword of Return in hand enters from the passage located behind the god. Alarmed, Sagara tries to attack Leez, but her transcendentals are not working, which puzzles her.[42] Kubera blocks Leez's swing with his spear, and Riagara questions if they should get down to help him. But Sagara believes it is more prudent if he handles the threat on his own because they cannot use their transcendentals and things could go wrong.

Sagara recognizes Leez from the time when Kubera drew the sword, and she also recalls that he regained his regenerative ability afterward.[19] [22] As unexpected as the situation is, she has certainty that the outcome will be her victory as the one who knows all possibilities assured her about it. Sagara pities Leez because all that is left for her is despair and death.

Leez manages to cut the visor of Kubera's helmet and surprisedly ceases her attack. Kubera takes this opportunity to kick her hard in the stomach, causing her to crash against a wall and lose consciousness.

Even if this path is rather unexpected, the end result will still turn out the same. Yes, it's a certainty... the one who knew all possible outcomes had suggested this one to me. It's obvious that victory will be mine.

– Sagara about her victory [43]

2-170 summoning begins

Summoning ritual

(6) Excited, Sagara observes how Kubera creates a golden vortex of lightnings that rises to the sky after the golden light around him has resumed. Knowing that Kubera will shortly disappear, Sagara thanks him for everything and states that she will remember his sacrifice every time she looks at Ananta. Kubera finds her words shallow, yet he does not require any ostentatious empty words.

(7) Cloche notices that Clophe and Hura are missing and leaves to search for her brother. [43]

2-171 the anticipation

C'mon

Within the top of the vortex, a gate has opened, and Ananta's golden scales fill the sky. Sagara gets more excited as the portal keeps getting bigger. However, her enthusiasm dies out when the vortex fizzles out in a flash.

Sagara looks at Kubera and finds it hard to believe that his golden light is gone once again. At this point, she believes the god is doing it on purpose, yet she does not mind the delay as long as he finishes his job. A human teleports next to the unconscious Leez, and Sagara yells at Kubera to kill her. Asha grins and, addressing Sagara as the Ananta king, claims that she cannot kill her.

(8) Sagara is unsettled because, under the excuse that the humans were there randomly, Kubera allowed Asha to teleport away taking Leez with her. She inquires if he is plotting something. The god brings up that Sagara has distrusted him since the begging of their journey. Even if her suspicions are correct, does she wish for him to stop now that his powers have returned? He reminds Sagara of her words about not caring about the means used as long as Ananta returns.[44]

2-172 Ananta summoning gathering

The Ananta clan and Kubera

Sagara nervously reflects on the recent events. Before Leez arrived, everything went exactly as she was assured. However, what happened afterward did not, and this might affect her victory.

Kubera insists she must speak right now if she wants to cancel the summoning and warns her that once they go forward with it, there is no turning back. Sagara sets aside her concerns and orders him to continue because she cannot abandon this unique opportunity to see Ananta again. She also wonders what his scheme must be, but concludes that if he desires to atone for his sins, he must sacrifice himself for Ananta and not betray him again. Pingara looks troubled but does not speak his mind and Riagara has complete trust in what Sagara is doing.

To regain her composure, Sagara reminds herself that her victory has been decided since the very beginning.

There's no way I can lose... the final outcome had been decided from the very beginning!!!

– Sagara to herself [45]

(9) Asha returns, driving a car. Sagara is surprised because everything was supposed to be over, and she should have won with there being no one capable of closing the portal. The nastika is aware of Asha’s identity and goals. She sarcastically thanks the human for all the work she did as part of her selfish desires for power, which ultimately only helped the suras.

2-173 Hoti Visnu

Hoti Visnu

Sagara calls Asha an idiot for believing that a mere human could hold Ananta's power. A human will go mad with a just a tiny fraction of that immense strength. Since Kubera has ceased to exist, Asha has lost the opportunity to obtain that power anyway. Asha, who had remained quietly listening to Sagara, declares she will then cause a delay until she can acquire that power and casts Hoti Visnu at the same time that a bomb located in the car explodes.

The summoning had failed and everyone who was present at the summoning ground has disappeared from existence and memory for the following seven years.

You were deceived, you idiot. that kind of power is something no human should dare to covet!!

3-035 angry sagara

The queen is back

(1) During Agni's interrogation of Gandharva at the Temple of Earth in Kalibloom, he demands to know who made him attack the city. Gandharva blurts out "Sagara", and realizes that he never gave her a single thought in the past seven years, and neither did Agni. The nastika wonders why they can, all of a sudden. Sagara, naked and with her hair loose, glares into the darkness of night.

(2) Sagara calls out for Riagara, searching the vicinity of the deep crater. All she finds are traces of broken bones, however. Furious, she releases a purplish aura.

(5) Sagara watches and eavesdrops on Shess and Ran Sairofe as they walk towards Kalibloom.

Chapter 41: Your Seven Years[]

3-052 the queen is back

Long time no see

(7) As Maruna is pondering what to do as there seems to be some trouble at the Temple of Chaos, Sagara appears before him and tells him not to go there. She asks Maruna if he ever thought of her in those last seven years. He retorts that he would have no reason to think about her considering how she left Samphati to her own resources when she was in danger in the battle seven years ago. Sagara claims that she had actually seen a lot of Samphati in the last seven years.

3-052 Akasha does not want that

Sagara trying to recruit Maruna

Sagara tells Maruna where she will be at and asks Maruna to join her forces. Maruna tells her that Akasha told him to use The Eye of Perishment instead, but Sagara claims Akasha was wrong. The reason Samphati was sent to aid Sagara was to learn the secret trick that Sagara used to become king despite not being the strongest in her clan. Finding Maruna's siblings through "him" is also still on the table. These missions should take priority, however, Akasha forgot all about them because Sagara has been gone from existence for the last seven years. Sagara adds that she will not force Maruna, but he should come if he is interested. She also warns Maruna not to approach Kalibloom and to stay far from Agni's pink flames because they would kill him on the spot.

I saw a lot of Samphati in the last seven years.

About Sagara

(2)(3) Maruna thinks about Sagara's words but eventually concludes that Sagara must have been lying and he will not trust her. He approaches The Temple of Chaos but gets found by Agni. He is forced to allow Agni to read him with insight and Agni takes note that Maruna has met with Sagara, yet does not push the matter.

Chapter 46: Soul[]

3-90 Agni and Brilith visiting Ananta summon place

At Ananta summoning place

(1) Agni and Brilith investigate the site of the explosion, where Sagara was last seen. They do not find anything helpful and assume Sagara would have already gotten rid of all evidence. They try to recreate the events of what happened here. Asha Rahiro must have been at the center and Sagara and her clanmates surrounding her. Asha must have used Hoti Visnu on Ananta, canceling the summoning. Asha used the explosion the spread the side effect of her spell and take the Anantas with her. The crater is not a result of the explosion but was moved as a result of this spell. This means everyone who was affected would have reappeared at this different location.

3-93 Sagara's gang

New team

(4) Sagara tells a newly awakened Riagara that she was the last to wake up and introduces her to the forces she gathered to replace those that were lost in the explosion. Riagara is assured that Clophe, Cloche, and Hura are also alright because they were not present at the time of the explosion. Sagara explains that they are waiting on the spot in case the human who caused this appears so that they can kill her. When Riagara worries what would happen if the gods were to come to attack them, Sagara reveals that they are now allied with Taraka, and thus have nothing to fear.

They are our cards to use as we see fit.

– Sagara about Taraka & Samphati [47]
3-099 despicable sight

Smug grin

(10) Riagara is still concerned about Taraka roaming around, so Sagara says she will talk to it and leaves. Later, Sagara announces that they no longer have to guard this location, since the human has returned and started to take action, though a frightful sight.

That human is back and on the move. And apparently... she's a frightful sight.

– Sagara about Asha Rahiro [48]

Chapter 47: Words That Never Reached You[]

3-103 Shess set free Gandharva

Shess is the infiltrator

(2) Sagara, standing next to Taraka, announces that they are ready to start and use their first pawn, a powerful card that can cause havoc within the city. Riagara is surprised that there is already someone on the inside. Sagara reveals that it is the same person who impeded Agni's movement by threatening Agni's summoner seven years ago, [28] and that it is someone who is immune to insight and who was sponsored by a high-ranking magician and thus had access to the Temple, hinting at Shess.

3-108 Sagara and Taraka

Sagara making plans

(8) After Shess caused a disturbance in Kalibloom under the influence of a mental transcendental, and Brilith Ruin got temporarily incapacitated because of an encounter with Ran Sairofe, Sagara sits on a rock besides Taraka and comments that with this, Gandharva will be taken care of for a while. She continues that if she had known things would be so easy, she would have joined this side seven years ago. Riagara worries what Sagara would do if Agni's summoner recovers her vigor and Agni will be free to act again. Sagara tells her not to worry because the human who is a frightful sight has gone to Mistyshore and will take care of it for them.

This is almost too easy. If I'd known, I would have joined forces with these guys seven years ago.

– Sagara [49]
3-109 Team Sagara

Dark Organization

(9) It is revealed that a suitable soul is necessary for the successful resurrection of Ananta. Without it, Ananta's name would go berserk and the world would be destroyed. The current goal of Sagara and her minions is the find a suitable container for the resurrection and there are multiple soul candidates on the planet who can serve that purpose.

Chapter 48: Separation[]

3-127 Kadru takes his human adult form

Kadru wrecking Atera

Sagara has positioned her forces to attack multiple cities at once, only a few are true targets, others are supposed to serve as a distraction. Samphati has been positioned in space above Aeroplateau[50]. Kadru has been tasked with attacking Atera[51], Tatia and Sona are in Rindhallow[52], and Cloche, Hura, Riagara, and Pingara are stationed at Kalibloom[50], while Clophe had already infiltrated the city.[53]

The group has two main goals. To kill a Kubera or retrieve the goldy items of god Kubera. And to secure a soul candidate that would become the vessel for Ananta's resurrection.[54]

(1) Sagara is standing alongside Taraka. Sagara asks her what she is thinking and continues that Taraka might not be thinking anything at all. Sagara continues to say that she used to hate Taraka, but now she pities her. Chatan asks Sagara whether he should join Kadru in Atera, but Sagara tells him that will not be necessary.

I used to really hate you, you know, but now, looking at you... I kinda feel sorry for you. If you'd known you'd be abandoned so easily, you wouldn't have given up your time. Right?

– Sagara to Taraka [55]
3-128 Samphati and maruna

Maruna stopping Samphati

(4) Sagara comments on the fact that Maruna had intercepted Samphati, smirking at the irony that one who used to stomp down humans like insects would defend them now. Sagara is deciding where she should go. Chatan suggests she go to Kalibloom, but she responds there is no need and sends Taraka in her stead, calling her "Menaka".

(12) Sagara and Chatan are standing outside of Mistyshore, noting that Agni is currently protecting the city. Chatan asks whether it would not be better to go to Kalibloom, but Sagara rejects the idea as she is certain that Agni will get drawn out to Atera.

3-136 Chatan and Sagara infiltrating in Mistyshore 2

Infiltrating Mistyshore

(14) Upon Agni's departure, Chatan suggests breaking the city barrier and taking the soul candidate. Sagara refuses, saying that they must not draw Agni's attention and the soul candidates must be taken alive. Both of them agree to use a psychological transcendental to get a human to sponsor them into the city.

(16) Thanks to the sponsoring of a magician, Chatan and Sagara in child form entered the city. They control the magician to ask for the locations of the children they are searching for and learn that they would be either with Huan in the barrier room or with Eline in the main building. Although Chatan worries for Sagara's safety, they agree to split up in their search.

Take the children alive at all costs.

– Sagara to Chatan [56]
King of toxic mist

King of Toxic Mist (child version)

Sagara, in child form, is trying to get into the barrier stone room when she gets confronted by Brilith Ruin. (17) Brilith asks about the identity of the little child before her. The magician who accompanied Sagara says it needs to see the children who are with Huan. When the magician continues to insist even after Brilith refused to let the two of them enter, Brilith smacks the magician so that he falls unconscious.

Brilith repeats that the child is not allowed to enter. Sagara drops the act, uses her King of Toxic Mist transcendental, and refuses to leave. Brilith asks if Sagara was the reason Ran Sairofe had attacked her. Sagara claims that Ran acted of his own will.

Brilith asks the other magicians who were present to stand back and prepares to fight Sagara. Sagara taunts Brilith to call Agni. She shifts to adult male form and reveals that Agni is in Atera fighting Kadru, a powerful nastika who spent time in the Vritra, Ananta, and Asura clans. And that if Brilith calls on Agni, she will be bringing about the destruction of her beloved city.

So come on and call Agni here, Priestess. Let it be your decision... which destroys your city, Atera.[57]
3-138 King of Toxic Mist vs Brilith

Face-off

(18) Sagara evades Brilith's attack and proceeds to mock her, saying that Brilith won't call Agni because she has a habit of losing as the result of a foolish choice. Just like she did on Gresvan one thousand years ago.

When Brilith displays surprise that Sagara could know this, Sagara explains that as a side effect of the Hoti Visnu penalty, she was able to read the records written by time. Here she accessed records about Brilith and learned that as the survivor of the destruction of her planet, Brilith's incarnation of 1000 years ago received a chance to fulfill her wish, only to die for being unable to defeat one human. Yet Sagara could not see who it was that killed Brilith and why Brilith did not call Agni. That information was erased.

As Sagara speculates about Brilith's reasons, Brilith screams out to silence her and attacks. Sagara taunts Brilith, saying that such an attack was risky because Agni could have noticed.

You pretend to be so all-knowing and passionless every time you recover your memories... but when it really matters, you make a foolish choice and end up the loser. That is your fate.

– Sagara to Brilith [58]
3-139 Dying Brilith

Rotting Brilith's body away

(19) Sagara and Brilith notice the commotion outside caused by Chatan's not so stealthy attempt to retrieve the other children. Sagara further taunts Brilith, asking how she can cope with so many miserable lives and how difficult it must be to tolerate Gandharva when he has killed her twelve times.

To Sagara's surprise, Brilith stops using her transcendentals and merely stares at Sagara. Her expression has a powerful effect on Sagara, who loses control over her emotions and rots half of Brilith's body away. In her thoughts, Sagara wishes for Brilith to stop ruining her plans and disappear, and she switches to her female form, negating her King of toxic mist transcendental.

What kind of.. this human. This is crazy. This human is crazy and I've gone crazy as well. She was the problem seven years ago as well. She ruins everything. She makes me angry and spoils my plans... disappear. You need to disappear.

– Sagara about Brilith [59]
3-140 Brilith cuts Sagara in 2

Brilith thrashing Sagara

(20) Sagara takes note that Chatan has taken sura form. While she is distracted, Brilith uses Hoti Asvins to heal herself and attacks Sagara with the Staff of Agni.

Brilith mocks Sagara for acting predictably and shifting to female form, pointing out that Sagara keeps repeating the same mistakes for tens of millions of years. Sagara is surprised and doubts that Brilith could have predicted her, as she acted on emotion.

Brilith further injures Sagara, but Sagara says it won't be enough to kill her. Sura form Chatan appears outside the temple and smashes the building with his arm.

You did exactly as I expected. Just like a nastika. You lot never lose your idiotic habits. You repeat the same mistakes for tens of millions of years.

– Brilith to Sagara [60]
3-147 Agni surprising Sagara

Surprise

(27) On Sagara's command, Chatan hid Sagara in Mistyshore, leaving a portal open for her to escape when she needs, and he left for Kalibloom. Sagara waits for Agni to leave. Once he does so, she reveals herself to Brilith. At that instant, Agni reappears and looks strictly down at Sagara.

(28) Agni asks Sagara if the records created by time predicted he would be there. Sagara tells him that the records are not absolute and do not offer the answer to everything. Although the past is fixed, the future branches into many choices. All she can do is try to memorize the most probable ones, missing out something would be inevitable. Sagara wonders if a fifth-zen god would have better luck memorizing it all, but concludes that the god would probably just throw it all away at the top, which would make it useless.

Agni threatens to kill Sagara if she has no use since she is a threat to Brilith. Sagara says that she never planned to kill Brilith and that she wants to talk things out, even reprimanding Brilith and Agni for resorting to violence so readily. Brilith stares at her in disbelief.

Sagara then starts offering information. She attempts to tell Agni about how Gandharva killed Brilith multiple times in previous lives, but Brilith stops Sagara before she can finish, and says that all the suras that killed her were different and they were hardly worth remembering. Sagara is surprised but goes with the flow.

3-149 Ananta's endless records

Ananta's endless records

She changes the topic and offers to speak about Ananta's resurrection. Agni tries to prevent that topic, but Brilith expresses a wish to hear it, as Agni refused to tell her any of it earlier.

I want to talk things out. But I don't get why you and your summoner prefer violence so much.

– Sagara trolling Agni and Brilith[61]

(29) Sagara tells Agni and Brilith that unlike seven years ago, she now knows how important the vessel for Ananta's name will be. In the space where she got to read the records by time, this aspect was emphasized strongly. Ananta's records were extensive, seemingly endless. Sagara could read only a small portion and there were parts that she could not read at all.

3-149 Agni mad with Sagara

Agni upset with Sagara

Agni asks who was the god that made Sagara so convinced that this would not be the case seven years ago. Sagara says she could not tell him even if she wanted to.

Sagara returns to the topic. In her search for a suitable soul, she first found the soul of Menaka. But she decided not to go with this option because of the ridiculous amount of sins that Menaka carried. Agni gets rather fired up and asks for an explanation. Sagara reveals that Menaka existed until now and she just got annihilated while they were talking. Her thoughts reveal that if Taraka got sent to Kalibloom, the chance she would get annihilated was 90 %. Out loud, Sagara continues that getting annihilated was better for Menaka.

3-150 Agni and Sagara

Sagara and Agni reach an agreement

(30) Sagara explains that to her personally, the soul she uses does not matter, but for the humans it would probably be desirable that a weak and useless human be taken. She asks that they give up any one of the children and speaks about how carefully they were chosen as candidates, based on causality and other parameters.

Agni says that he promised to protect the children. Sagara asks if this means Agni would be willing to turn a blind eye if they take a different candidate. Agni falls silent. Sagara laughs at him and tells Brilith to look at what kind of god she serves. When Sagara turns her back to leave, Brilith suddenly fires up her weapon and attacks.

3-150 Sagara crying

Sagara crying

Unknown to Sagara, Riagara and Pingara had been hiding in Chatan's transcendental and watching. At that moment, Riagara attempts to leap out from her hiding place with the goal to protect Sagara, but Pingara stops her and goes instead. Pingara takes sura form and takes the brunt of Brilith's attack. He asks Riagara not to throw around her body so recklessly and then asks Sagara to cherish her cards more. Meanwhile, Sagara grabs Riagara and they both escape through Chatan's portal. Sagara has tears in her eyes.

When Sagara and Riagara step out of the portal, joining the group waiting near Kalibloom, Sagara tells Chatan to close the portal. She looks around, noticing that both the soul candidate and the godly items have been secured. She asks about Clophe, Hura breaks off Cloche's attempt to answer and asks about Pingara. Sagara tells them that Pingara would not be coming back. In disbelief, Cloche asks Riagara for an explanation.

So this is why my father said to not trust them, Sagara. Cherish more of the cards you hold.

– Pingara to Sagara [62]

Chapter 49: The Golden Knight 2[]

(1) Brilith warns Agni that Sagara is far more twisted and untrustworthy than he could know and implies that Sagara had caused her many a misfortune in previous lifetimes.

Her looks were about the same, but my lives changed much more dramatically. I recognize her right away, but she can't recognize me. She probably can't even imagine, that she's responsible for quite many of the misfortunes in my records.

– Brilith about Sagara[62]

(2) Despite knowing about Leez Haias being a Kubera, she was not on Sagara's priority list. Instead, Sagara intended to kill a different Kubera or retrieve Kubera's godly items. Leez's bracelet had been stolen from her.

3-154 Team meeating

Team meeting

(4) Sagara had put Riagara on probation for ignoring her orders and bringing about what befell Pingara. Sagara calls Cloche and Hura over, and reveals that Kubera's spear is missing from the godly items that they retrieved from Kalibloom, even though there is no reason for it not to be there if the resurrection attempt from 7 years ago was invalidated.

Going forward with the resurrection will be impossible unless they either kill a Kubera or get their hands on one more of Kubera's items. On Hura's suggestion, Sagara finally decides that they go get the Golden Knight bracelet.

3-156 Chatan, Sagara and Tatia

After the Golden Knight

(6) Sagara asked "him" where to look for the bracelet and "he" sent them to some snowy mountains. Sagara is accompanied by Chatan and Tatia. Not seeing anything at first, Chatan voices doubts in "his" ability as "he" is not in his normal state anymore.

The group spots a cloaked figure in the distance. Sagara takes this in stride and tells the woman that she must be thinking about making that name hers since she even took the bracelet. She orders Tatia to retrieve the bracelet, warning her that the girl is a skilled magician.

Instead of blowing off the girl's head, Tatia merely blocks her mouth to prevent her from using magic. However, a golden mouth grows out of the girl's hand and casts Hoti Indra Bhavati Marut.

You took that bracelet... and now you're thinking of making that name yours, aren't you?

– Sagara to Asha [63]

(7) Tatia and Chatan get sliced apart by the spell. However, Sagara predicted that this spell would be used, shifted to her male form, and activated her King of Toxic Mist transcendental beforehand.

3-157 Resentful Sagara

Resentful

While Tatia, who had taken sura form, and Asha fight in the distance, Sagara approaches Chatan, who is regenerating himself. She comments that she is impressed by Asha's fusion magic and acknowledges how greatly Asha had surpassed ordinary humans. She wonders why Chatan did not dodge the spell and considers that he might be slow. Chatan claims he felt no need to dodge since he can regenerate and asks why Sagara did not warn him and Tatia if she knew what Asha was capable of.

Sagara reveals that she harbors bitterness against the two of them because they come from clans that did nothing to help when Ananta was dying. Chatan feels that she should treat the few allies she has better than this, but Sagara continues that she resents hypocrites who refuse to fully commit themselves to a task and get their hands dirty. Just like Gandharva seven years ago, like Tatia when she did not go for the kill just a while ago, and like Chatan, who disobeyed her orders in Mistyshore. They would do well to realize that there is no place for such mercy in this fight.

When Ananta died, your clan either cooperated with the gods or stood back with arms crossed. Even if you're now on the side that's trying to resurrect Ananta, I can't see you favorably.

– Sagara to Chatan [64]
It's just ridiculous to see anyone cooperate in this kind of business yet say "I don't want to get my hands dirty." I would never want things to go wrong again because of such hypocrites.

– Sagara to Chatan [64]
3-160 Sagara reading Time's records

reading Time's records

(10) Tatia apologizes for failing to retrieve the bracelet because Maruna had unexpectedly appeared. Sagara does not seem to mind, stating that defeating Maruna would be impossible for Tatia and the human too was more powerful than expected.

Chatan wonders how Sagara can be so confident despite failing successively and whether this is because of the futures she saw. Sagara believes that whatever unexpected things happen, the situation always returns to the expected range later. No matter what route is taken, it is enough that the events are heading to the inevitable ending she desires.

When reading the records of time, Sagara learned that Ananta will kill the king of the Taraka clan.

There may be records that I missed, but from what I saw, there weren't any wrong records. So... whatever the process, if things are heading to the future that I wish to see that's enough. There's no need to be impatient or anxious.

– Sagara to Chatan & Tatia [64]
