Anna Haias is a pure-blood human and the mother of Kubera Leez. In the first two seasons of the webtoon, Anna's fate remains unknown.

Appearance[]

Anna is a woman with yellowish tanned skin, dark-green hair, dark-green eyebrows, and light-green eyes. Her daughter Kubera last sees her wearing a long pinkish sleeved dress with a grayish-black apron on-top of it.

Personality[]

Anna appears to have a cheerful and caring personality. She does not mind her daughter sleeping in late, and seems to approach situations in a restful, motherly way. In her younger days, she had many half friends.[1]

Notes[]

Plot[]

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

History[]

In a flashback, young Leez looks at a photo of her parents taken on the 10th day of the 10th month in the year D995,[2] which was Anna's 19th birthday. This was the year that Rao won the Fighter Championship, and he gave the gold medal shown in the photo to Anna as a birthday present.[3]

In the same flashback, Anna is shown folding clothes when Kubera asks her when her dad will be coming home. Anna replies that it will be when she is a little older.[2] It is very likely that this conversation happened before the events in the year N5 when Rao went missing from the transport ship from planet Carte,[2] and when Anna reportedly died.[4]

When Gandharva asks Kubera Leez for her name upon their first meeting, she recalls Anna advising her at a very young age to never tell her name to outsiders, claiming her name was special.[5]

Anna appears in another flashback wearing a blue dress and apron and holding a broom, trying to sweep leaves, but is interrupted by Roen Renod, who excites a young Kubera. Anna tells her daughter that she was a fighter in her youth, and had many half friends at the time.[1]

It is to be noted that in all the above flashbacks, Leez is no older than 6 years old.

Season 1[]

Chapter 1: A Girl with a God's Nme[]

(1) On the morning of her daughter's 16th birthday, Anna is greeted by a now-awoken Kubera with a hug and an "I love you". After some playful banter, Anna suggests that her daughter go see Kaz Lehn and pick some mushrooms.

(3) Kubera thinks of Anna, hoping that her mother's okay, as she runs to her village after witnessing an ominous red dome encompass it.

(5) She later appears in Kubera's dream, "waking her up" into the dream. She suggests that Kubera pick a new name that she liked, hints that Kaz and his brother Haas Lehn are alive, and wakes her up to reality where her friend—strongly implied to be Asha— would await.

Chapter 2: The Queen and the Bum[]

(3) Leez recalls her last dream with her mother when Agni tells her it is okay to cry.

Chapter 3: The Sorrow of Loss[]

(2) Lorraine Rartia and Ruche Seiran investigate the village destroyed in the red sky incident, and Lorraine notes that even though the village had a population of 112, her tool, which calculates the number of people who died at a specific location, shows a count of 0.

(4) In a lucid dream after Asha tries to wake Leez up, Leez calls Asha her mother and begs her to let her sleep some more to avoid from reality.

In their escape out of the guild building, Leez, who's dangling from Asha's shoulder, mistakenly calls Asha her mother again and asks if what is actually Asha's fur coat is a new bed sheet.

Chapter 5: The Golden Knight[]

(6) Using insight, Kubera discovers that Leez's one true wish is to have her mother returned well and alive.

Chapter 6: The Past I Yearn For/Longing for Yesterday[]

(5)(6) Lorraine, the head investigator on the red sky attack on Leez's village, tries to tell Asha and Leez her findings, but before she could continue, Asha kicks Leez out of the room, orders her to wash her face, and casts hoti brahma to prevent Leez from eavesdropping. Lorraine continues that although the destruction to the village was catastrophic, her instruments read no fatalities. Later that day, Leez brings up to Asha what Lorraine was trying to say. Asha tries to recite that Lorraine's instruments yielded no casualty, but something stop her from speaking. Instead, Asha elects to tell Leez that everyone in her village died because of her, more specifically, they died because Leez has the name of a god. Leez recalls a memory from her childhood when she fought with her mom to give her a new name because she was jealous she couldn't leave her village or go to school like Kaz. Anna tries to sooth Leez by revealing she was given that name because her father was told that if he named his child 'Kubera', after 15 years, that child would be happier than anyone else.

Chapter 7: Half (半)[]

(2) Unable to help as a half is being auctioned due to Mistyshore's opposition to half rights, Leez can't help but think of how her mother befriended many halfs during her fighter days and wonders how things devolved to this level.

(7) After Rinn rejects Leez's goodwill for fear it may inadvertently cause harm to her half village, Leez recalls Roen gushing over how extraordinary a fighter Anna was to the point that Anna was considered superior even when compared to her fellow strong half fighter friends. The young Leez is inspired to follow in her mother's footsteps after she changes her name, leaves her village to become an even stronger fighter than both her parents, and gain a lot of half friends when she grows up.

Chapter 9: Rival[]

(6) As Leez is starting her journey through the Water Channel, one of her new companions, Ran, repeatedly asks her if she'll be okay with just those clothes considering that the Channel is extremely cold. Leez insists that she'll be fine and shares with him that her outfit was a birthday present from the person she loves the most.

Season 3[]

Chapter 41: Your Seven Years[]

(3) Clari Utas brings her concerns to Teo Rakan that Leez is an imposter, because Rao Leez had a reputation for being uninterested in women and Anna could never have been alive "then".

Chapter 44: The Meaning of Revenge[]

(3) During an altercation in a Kalibloom restaurant, Clari calls Leez a liar because her mother Anna Haias had many half friends and died in N5, so it is impossible for Leez to have lived with her until N15.

(4) Leez, seemingly stunned by Clari's words, has a flashback of her mother telling her, apparently at age 6, that if she waits, she promises that she will be there soon.
