Ruche Seiran is Riche's younger twin sister is a quarter of unknown heritage. She is the Atera Magicians Guild Branch President in Seasons 1 and 2.

Appearance[]

Ruche appears as a slightly girlish woman with light skin tone. She has distinctive mint green hair that reaches down past her shoulders, similarly colored eyebrows, and pinkish-purple eyes. In Season 1 she wears purplish-black shoes, long purplish-black stockings, and a dark grey long skirt. She also wears a gray jacket, which is dark-grey on the inside, is folded around the neck, and has a dark-grey zipper-like line in the front.

Personality[]

Ruche appears to have a cheerful, selfish, and a somewhat simple-minded personality, although this is not overly surprising since her mental age is the same as that of her appearance, 17. She seems quite impatient, and is very obsessed with Asha Rahiro. She also seems to prefer solving discussions by physical means, which often happens when Airi Yui is around.

Skills and Abilities[]

Even though Ruche is a triple-Vayu magician and claims that teleportation (via hoti vayu) is her specialty, Lorraine Rartia, on the other hand, considers her to be an incompetent magician.[1]

Notes[]

  • When Brilith offers her a free drink, she picks tea.[2]
  • She and her sister Riche are fraternal twins. Riche is the elder sister.
  • Through the course of seasons 1 and 2, she is the president of the Atera Branch Magic Guild, a position she is presumed to have obtained due to her famous and rich sister's influence.

Plot[]

History[]

Ruche was the administrator of the Vayu Barrier testing room, when Asha was taking her magician exam at Rindhallow, but was unaware that Asha was present at that time.[3]

Season 1[]

Chapter 2: The Queen and the Bum[]

(3) Ruche first appears in episode 8, where she is talking to Asha in in a state of wonder, as the latter is signing in for rooms. She is initially surprised and happy when Asha books two rooms, but madly disappointed, when the latter reveals that her companion is a girl. Once Asha has left, she goes up to prepare two special rooms.

(5) Ernst describes to Asha of how Ruche was forced to go with Lorraine to investigate the recent red sky attacks since Lorraine is awful at teleportation magic.

Chapter 3: The Sorrow of Loss[]

(2) In the evening, Ruche accompanies Lorraine to an investigation around Leez's village, as the latter is unskilled at using hoti vayu magic, which clearly is against her wishes, as she is missing out on being around Asha. When appearing near the village, she perfectly lands on a soft and comfortable bush, while Lorraine crashes on her stomach and face, and almost loses her eyesight. She is surprised, when Lorraine threatens to make her lose her job as Atera's branch guild manager, and tries to apologize, by promising to be more considerate when they teleport back. Hearing the result of 'no casualties', she deduces that the device has malfunctioned, and that they should head back. Lorraine takes the bait, but doesn't swallow, and promises to drag her feet, since Asha is the reason behind Ruche's haste. This makes Ruche furious, but she quickly proposes to look around, when Lorraine hints about her weak position and lack of work, so Ruche ends falling into the trap of a 'lengthy investigation around the town'.

Chapter 4: AAA Magician[]

(1) A few weeks later, Ruche is pestered by Lorraine, who is having a delayed package, about sharing the present with her, which she refuses. Seeing her chance to lose Lorraine when Leez calls out the latter, she gives her the finger, and attempts to flee, but receives a continuous flow of hoti brahma hammer pounds to her head instead. All three decide to visit Asha, but are not allowed to wake her up, so they visit Brilith instead. Brilith refuses to answer her question about the state of the Barrier, but agrees to reveal a few things from Asha's past.

(5) Ruche appears mad and heartbroken about Asha being denied her fourth exam, which she would have granted. They are shortly notified of Asha's waking.

(6) All four pay Asha a visit. Ruche is initially mind-blown by Asha's appearance, but quickly proceeds to wish her a happy birthday, and offer her gift. The gift is initially rejected, but is accepted when she reveals the content, which leaves her crying from happiness.

Chapter 5: The Golden Knight[]

(1) A day later, Ruche is looking for Asha, finds her in the library with Brilith, and reveals that no one is where they're supposed to be, including Leez who's absent from her room. She is however denied her chance to stay with Asha when Brilith persistently guides her out.

Chapter 6: The Past I Yearn For/Longing for Yesterday[]

(2) Ruche is seen sitting at a table with Asha and Leez as they are eating her cooking, and appears to be overjoyed by it. She quickly turns mad, however, once Airi and Lorraine appear. They leave Leez eating and exit to the palace garden, with Asha and Lorraine leading, and Ruche and Airi fighting behind them. During their fight, it is revealed that Ruche is the President of Asha's Fan Club. Airi defeats Ruche by unfairly using hoti kubera. She then reads the message she received from her brother of a large group of suras gathering around Rindhallow.

(5) The group soon return inside, where Leez is still eating, and Ruche quietly serves cookies. Lorraine is about to discuss with the three about her and Ruche's findings in their investigation on the latest location of the red sky attack, but before she could say more, Leez is kicked out of the room by Asha. Lorraine continues that although the destruction to the village was catastrophic, her instruments read no fatalities.

(7) When Asha is leaving town with Leez, Ruche is there to see her off. She is about to engage in another fight with Airi, but both are stopped by Lorraine's hoti brahma hammers.

Chapter 10: The Night it Rained Fire[]

(9) Ruche appears to be a cowardly person, and doesn't leave the Magic Guild building when Sagara and her troops attack Atera. She adopts to argue with her co-worker, Ernst Seiran, about if she should go out to fight the suras. He criticizes Ruche for not doing enough given her position, rank and triple attribute. Due to her evasiveness, Ernst implies that Ruche isn't capable of maintaining the barrier, earning him a hit to the throat from Ruche. A spectator gossips about Ruche being given her position not due to merit, but due to her connections.

Once he recovers, Ernst reiterates to Ruche that she needs to do more, which she makes excuses for.

(10) Agwen figures that of course the magicians in the Magic Guild are doing nothing but spectating considering their Branch President is Ruche.

(11) When Airi comments that the Magic Guild President, Ruche, isn't at the Temple helping out even though she's a triple attribute, Lorraine plots that if she fails in ousting Ruche from her position, as punishment to herself, she will finally get married the following year.

Admiring Airi's commitment to protect the defenseless, Lorraine determines that Airi would be a good candidate to replace Ruche with.

(15) When Agni tells a dying Brilith that he will only give her her life back if she has a reason to live, Ruche is one of the few people Brilith could differentiate, but couldn't recognize, as she combed through her memories in search for a reason to live.

(16) After meeting Agni, Lorraine explains to Brilith that she, Ruche, and a few others have suspected that a god has been summoned after observing how weak the barrier became after the first red sky attack. None of them said anything other than a few whispers out of respect for Brilith.

Once the situation is resolved, she bathes in the glory of being one of the saviors, despite having done nothing.

(20) On the morning of the 3rd day of the 12th month, after Sagara's forces have been repelled, Ruche instructs a fawning crowd that if any magicians asks who saved from the collapsing building, they should reply that it was her who saved them.

Chapter 11: The Power of the Name[]

(1) In order to extort an expensive fighter's suit for free from Lorraine, Airi reminds her of her promise to marry her fiance if she fails to oust Ruche from her position as Atera Magic Guild President.

Season 3[]

Chapter 48: Separation[]

(25) As multiple cities are under attack, Ruche receives news from her sister, Riche Seiran, about the situation in Atera. Along with Mirha Simon, she relays this information to the magicians in the Temple of Earth. 2000 people are confirmed to have survived in Atera and the one laying the city to waste is none other than god Chandra. Ruche also gets into an argument with Clari and she suggests Laila should stop giving vigor to Chandra, even if that would mean her lifespan would get drawn on.

(26) A loud noise is heard outside the Temple and Riche and others gather at the window. They see that Ran Sairofe and Leny are faced with the rakshasa, Chatan, who previously infiltrated Mistyshore. The magicians consider helping, but Ruche stops them by pointing out that they must not reveal the location of the barrier stone.

Chapter 49: The Golden Knight 2[]

(6) The attack now over, Ruche and Rana are giving Laila a status report. They inform her that Kalibloom is practically undamaged because the barrier never broke, they tell her that Atera is in ruins and also that there was an explosion at the Prison for magic criminals in Aeroplateau.

Ruche continues by speaking about how to deal with the rumor that Chandra attacked Atera and asks Laila if she has any news of him. Instead of answering, Laila asks for the cloak that Ran borrowed when going to Konchez, claiming that it is Chandra's item and the god asked for it.

Special Episode 8 - The South Pole Expedition[]

(1) In year N22, Chandra chooses 7 people to gather Taraka fragments for him, Ruche among them. Each of them had a choice to either go to the land of unending winter, or to go to the south pole, or to personally tell Chandra to bug off.

Only Tilda was brave enough to go for the third option. Ran and Mirha chose option one. And Ruche ended up taking part in an expedition to the south pole alongside Siera Sies, Lutz Sairofe, and Clari Utas.

Since Ruche is a big fan of Lutz, she takes care to carry him over all difficult obstacles. Siera speculates that since suras of the Gandharva clan are prominent in the region, the one with the fragment is likely to be among them. Lutz recalls that a Kinnara clan sura that looks like an elephant was also seen in the area and hopes that they do not encounter it. He jinxed it.

(2) The party members realize that the ground is shaking and the creature above them resembles an elephant. Siera has no clue what an elephant is, so Ruche explains that these are animals who used to be popular on Konchez but became extinct. Riche regretted not having poached the animals since their bodies were rather valuable. Kinnara clan suras who resemble elephants tend to be huge.

They speculate that it must have died during the Cataclysm, which is why it did not get moved to the sura realm, and the Taraka fragment must be acting as a power source for the carcass.

The Taraka sura catches Siera and his party members then rescue him. The group criticizes Siera for his poor vigor management. Suddenly, Siera's scarf catches on fire, Lutz and Ruche use Hoti Varuna to put it out, and Agni teleports over. Siera attempts to help Agni battle the sura, only to end up getting saved himself. The sura is defeated and the party safely returns.
